I personally feel a plump acorn fat wood duck is hard to beat, exspecially with his fat little legs sticking out of some homemade dressing.:

I've heard canvasbacks are the best out there, but I won't ever find out, any can that i shoot will most likely be on the wall. As for me, wooducks, teal, mallards, ringnecks.

They are all good, some better than others. Just remember treat all waterfowl like you would beef, both are red meat so cook accordingly. I got this advise from an ol' fella I hunted with for years,he never steered me wrong. I love to eat them as much as I love to hunt them. To answer the question, teal to me are just a little slice of heaven!!!

Ducks-
Wood Duck, Teal, Wigeon, Pintail, Mallard, Gadwall, Redhead, Ringneck, Bluebill, Shoveler (hollywood). In that order best to worst.
Geese-
Specks, Snow, Canada
They all eat good, you just have to cook them right.

I'm going with teal - by far the best tasting for me and then wood ducks. I was speaking to one of my friends about this very topic the other day. We both agreed - the most important thing for me - is to eat them as quickly as possible - There must be a negative corelation between time spent in the freezer and taste.
I wish I liked to eat goose more - but I have found for me - the best is as jerky - Jepson had some made by his Amish brother and it was awesome! At least I hope it was goose and not horse.

Nothing can compare to teal
Everybody jokes about it, but coot breasts, injected with cajun marinade, then rolled in flower, and cast iron fried, can't be beat.
