Hey everyone,
Just wondering where I should start looking for hunting spots around the Twin Cities area.I will be moving down there in about a month, and I can't hardly wait scoping out some good fields for this huntin' season. Just north of the cities looks like some great fields, but my guess is start heading west. I will be new to the area so im not quiet sure which direction i should start heading. Are there many pot holes or sloughs around the Twin Cities area?I'll be doing a ton of scouting and I hope to have around 10-15 good fields with some places over water by the time early goose season rolls around.Plus My Uncle and friend also has a bunch of corn/wheat fields right outside the Rochester area good news to hear especially for late season honkers.wheeeew!! I have a ton of scouting to do!!!Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Shane,

There are a lot of geese in the metro area. There are also a lot of hunters. Getting permission can be very difficult. As far as which direction to go. Pick a direction, any direction and there are birds there. Although I do hunt a couple of spots near the cities most of my hunting seems to be two hours out.
