I was thinking how much things have changed over the last 15 years. the first photo is from my year book some years ago and then a photo from this year Thanks Avery and Green head Gear we have came a long way --This is where the saying I was goose hunting before goose hunting was cool came from so dig up some old and new photos funny how people and times change http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a11/1goose/schoolhunt_001.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a11/1goose/100_0392.jpg

Thats a pretty awesome comparison... it seems like the geese have adapted though, seeing as how your kneeling in the field no hide in one of those yearbook pictures

Jeff - I see you've learned how to properly bend your hat over the years. Ha Ha... pretty cool comparison.

"It was from his High School yearbook...1965 I believe!!!"

You would never see a pic of anyone with a gun or pics of anything to do with hunting in a yearbook from now... Too politcally incorrect...

It was in my year book the year was 1988. Back then i hunted and fished with a lot of teachers and friends. I was just looking back and thought i would share some of the good life i have had. lets see in 18 more years what kind of Avery gear my kids will be hunting with God [or Fred or Tom]only know how much better things can get http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a11/1goose/100_0395.jpg

Great post. I agree with you 100%. I have only been hunting geese since 1998 but my family has been doing it since the 1940s. I have many of my uncle's old shells and silhouettes as well as some of his older calls. I think that it is amazing what Avery has brought to this industry. The best part is that this is just the beginning. The future looks very bright.

Good Hunting!

Nice post Jeff. Looking back when I started we were using tires and anything else we could use that even came close to resembling a goose decoy. Oh how times have changed.

[ihttp://img264.imageshack.us/img264/2784/papawtote4ub.jpgmg][/img] This is a picture of my Grandfather and Tote that I took back in the late 80's. Notice the tire decoys and homemade silhouettes.

The quote "I was goose hunting when goose hunting wasn't cool" is the funniest thing I have ever heard.

Clay,
It is amazing how true that quote is. Most of us where hunting before it was "cool" or the thing to do. It seems that hunting is growing in most areas and getting more accepted, which is a good thing.
