I 'm Looking for a good ground blind for goose hunting this fall. I almost got a Final Approch Finisher last night at a banquet but let it go. Is this a good one or are there better ones.. I'm not looking for a sales pitch, just info on what people are using, like or dislikes about it. I sat in one once forgot what it was and felt very funny in it. Hard to use and shoot out of, (Pretending). Have they gotten better. or is this something i will have to get se to. I'm a blind with a bench kind of guy. so any info would be great.

Actually the Finisher is made by Avery. IMHO the Finisher is the best ground blind on the market and the best selling as well. However, the new Ground Force blind coming out later this year is pretty slick as well! You can't go wrong with any of the blinds Avery offers, the PowerHunter is lighter weight, easier to pack in, and the lowest profile. The Finisher is more comfortable, offers more protection from the elements, and the Ground Force is a great mix of both. For big guys, the Migrator fits the bill.

Jerry,
Avery offers 4 different layout blinds; Migrator, Power Hunter, Finisher, and new for 2006 the Ground Force. I have hunted from the Migrator, Finisher and Power Hunter.
The Migrator is the largest of the Avery Layout Blinds. The Migrator is designed for the larger hunter in mind. The Migrator is the most comfortable of the three blinds that Avery offers. The down side of the Migrator is that it weighs 22 lbs. and does not fold into a compact package. This makes the Migrator awkward to carry, if you have to pack to your favorite hunting spot. If you can drive into your spot everytime and comfort is important for you, I would consider the Migrator Blind.
The Power Hunter is a great blind at a great price point. The Power Hunter weighs only 11 lbs. and folds up into a compact package that can be easily packed into your favorite hunting spot. The PolyMesh top on the Power Hunter offers a unrestricted 360 degree field of view. The down side to the Power Hunter is that your gun lays outside of your blind and your arms and shoulders are exposed to the elements.
The Finisher is a great blind that offers the hunter the best of the Migrator and Power Hunter. The Finisher can easily be packed into your favorite hunting spot. It sets up in a matter of seconds. It offers the hunter a comfortable cockpit that shelters you from the elements. The Finisher is slightly smaller then the Migrator.
The Ground Force Blind is a new addition to the Avery line for 2006. I have not had the chance to hunt out of the new Ground Force, so I can not give you any feedback on this blind.
My favorite Avery Layout Blind is the Power Hunter. I like the blind because of its portability and the 360 degree field of view the blind design offers. My suggestion is to visit a retailer and test drive all of the blinds to see which one fits you the best. I hope this helps. Go to the link below for additional information on Avery Layout Blinds.

Here is the low down on blinds. You need one! The Power Hunter is best if you hunt in short cover (wheat or pasture) or have to carry you gear in. Go with the Finisher if you can drive in or close to your spot. Its a bit bigger, thus won't conceal as well in low cover but is a bit more comfortable in my opinion. I have yet to use the new blind. Either way, save some $$$ and get the khaki color instead of camo. It should be "grassed" anyway. Good luck!

Between those three responses I'm not sure there is anything else anyone could be wondering about after those reponses...
Good job guys,

Here are a couple pics so you can see them. The first one is the PowerHunter. You can see there is no frame down around the lower body, it incorporates a mesh flip top lid to cover your face. Very low profile and very portable. The Finisher is in the bottom picture. It has a frame and flip style doors. A little higher profile, but more comfortable and better protection from the elements. As you can see, you will flat disappear in either of them!

Between Rusty's verbal description and Tony's photos, you should have a great idea of which blind you want!

Perhaps you are thinking of the Eliminator? Just a guess. It's hard to say what is better, flip top or sides. I like the Powerhunter best. Its easier to move around in, call from, flag from, lower profile, better field of view, easier to transport.
The Finisher is better in crappy weather, and has the option of a neotub so that you can hunt in up to 8 inches of water.
It's hard to beat either of these blinds. The Finisher is the number one selling blind in the world for a reason!

I purchased the Power Hunter last fall and liked it so much, purchased one for my dad. I haven't used a Finisher but to me, the Power Hunter is better because of ease of transportation, lower profile, 360 degrees of viewing, and your hands/calling motion is all covered up.
One time I hunted with a person that had a Finisher and it was tougher to hide and carry for the person. In my view, the power hunter allows you to carry things on both shoulders while the Finisher only allows you to carry things on one shoulder.
In the perfect world, I would probably have a power hunter for 90% of my hunts but use a Finisher when warmth and a neotub is needed.
The new Ground Force sure looks like a nice blind though.

Really looking forward for the new ground force to come out... just a couple of questions, will it be offered in Khaki and will it be priced comparible to the Finisher or Power Hunter?
