Has anyone used this product in really strong winds...like greater than 40 mph? It gets kinda windy up here...and i'm wondering how the flip top performs in such conditions. The 11lb weight sounds wonderful though!

Izembek- I hunt out of a Powerhunter probably 90 percent of the time. Here in the Prairie Pothole region it is very windy as well. Because of the large holes in the mesh on the lid, air goes through it easily, allowing the lid to flip up with no resistance. For this same reason the lid will stay up when flipped. Only once has my lid ever not opened all the way. I had corn stubble attached, and my blind bag was too close behind the blind. When the stubble hit the bag, it didn't allow me to open it completely. Now I check and recheck no matter what blind I am in that there are no hang ups.
You won't beat the Powerhunter for concealment and ease of use. Try it!

I've have to agree with Mark, the Powerhunter can't be beat. I've hunted in the same conditions that you are describing and had no problems. I bought a couple of them for portability and found them to be my number one blind even if I can drive into the field. You won't be sorry you got one.

The power hunter is probably your BEST bet in your situation. I've seen other style blinds get annoying when the wind blows the doors open.

I agree with all of the the guys above. I have never had a problem with my Power Hunter in heavy wind. The weight issue you talked about is a great feature as well.

You will love that blind. Don't worry about that lid at all. Those young birds won't know what hit them!!

I agree...you won't have any problems with the wind. It is a great blind that you will find very useful.

I was also worried about the wind blowing the lid back on me in windy conditions before I bought my Power Hunter last fall but hunted out of it alot and only once I believe I had it come back on me. I just make sure nothing is behind it and throw it open all the way when I get ready to shot.
The blind is so nice because its easy to transport into a field, hide, call out of, view the birds, and also breaks the wind alot compared to the previous homemade backrest blind I had built.
You will enjoy them

I sewed a strap weight on the inside of the flip top just above the velcro. It seems to help prevent the scenario you are describing.
Thanks,

We have some strong winds here in South Dakota. I have hunted in well over 40mph winds and never once had a problem with the Power Hunter. Pick one up you will not be disappointed.

I've used Power Hunters ever since the first prototypes were created. I have hunted out of these blinds in all types of weather conditions without any problems. I have nothing but praise for them.
