Any progress? I can't wait to hit early geese and dove on the same day over some GHG's!

I have no idea where we are on this one. I don't think we have a slick carving yet.
Thanks,

Will this be part of the Bad Ass Ensemble and be an FFD Dove? ;)

I don't think you Northern boys realize how big a tradition us Southeners have with dove hunting.
It's almost a holiday down here when dove season opens. In fact, I have petitioned Congress to change Labor Day to Mourning Dove Day below the Mason-Dixon line.
A GHG dove decoy would be a huge hit in my opinion.

We will keep you updated on this decoy. Hopefully it will be an 07' decoy.
Thanks,
Eric

Hey Rob Heflin, one of my favorite dove hunts was opening day September 1, 1973. Guess what...you were a pain in your mothers inside...:p, I haven't missed an opening day in over 30 years!! I do agree, a GHG dove decoy would be cool!! Make it fully flocked.;)

I feel sorry for you southern boys stuck shooting dove. Most of us are hunting goose and early duck, it typically opens about the same as dove. Usually shoot dove in the afternoon, after the real hunting is done:D

Our early goose and teal open around the same time as September dove season down here. It's just that we enjoy the challenge of dove hunting because the waterfowl are so easy to hit.
I won't go into the fact that by the time our ducks get here, they've been edjumacated by the Yankees and are much more difficult to decoy.
But we seem to be able to cope just fine! Hehe.

It doesnt get any better than a good dove shoot! You can go through a lot of ammo in a quick hurry. I think the GHG dove decoy will be a major success.

How many of you hunt doves in the 2nd and 3rd seasons?
My favorite time to hunt them in MS is in the 3rd season in December and January. You can combine a snipe hunt with your dove hunt...makes for interesting gunnery.

I mainly hunt them on the first season. I'm off chasing waterfowl and deer after that.
It doesn't get much better than an early goose shoot in the morning, and then doves in the evening.! :D

Broke arm and 2 limits (me and dad) and I still stayed under 2 boxes. You should try to shoot a gun without putting it all the way down in your hand- not unsafe, but definitely challenging. :)

I work hard at getting them stooopid birds cleared from the flocks 'cause I know how you boys hate not having some challenging birds to hunt. :D

My Father and his Friend are big time in to doves that spend an excess of 25 to 30 thousand dollars each season preparing field for dove hunting alone.
During the first season I hunt geese in the morning on the Western Shore of Maryland were I live and then head to the Eastern Shore were he lives and put the smack down on some doves.

Would definetely get me some a dozen or two. It'll be deadly with GHG dove decoys and the mojo dove. Can't wait to see what they look like.

Good night, Bart! What do they plant? Everyone here is planting sunflowers or millet, but half of the fields are wheat sown a couple of weeks before season.
I'm gonna have to get up to your area one day. Read some about it and it sounds like a great place to hunt.
