It was neat to see an article about decoying snows in close with Tony Vandemore and Tyson Keller. Way to go guys, you should be proud. You've certainly proven yourselfs. You take snow goose hunting to a whole level. Nice job

These guys busted their butts all spring and had the results to prove it. They had successful hunt after successful hunt testing different theories involving shooting spring migrating Snows. They put in a ton of hours and a lot of sweat to get this deal done. Any accolades they receive as a result of this are well deserved.

I had the opportunity to hunt with Tyson and Tony for two days. It was unbelievable how the geese worked into the spread. To do what they did this spring on Snow/Blue geese is unheard of. They put a lot of time into it and were rewarded.
Thanks guys,
could anyone post the article...is it just in the us one or canada one to
thanks

I just got my copy today. Great article and the pictures are awesome. "It is as if someone opened a zipper in the dark clouds and heaps of white laundry came tumbling out."-Quote from "Decoy Snows in Close."

Although I have not yet recieved my DU magazine, I had a friend kind enough to scan the pages and e-mail them to me. The article did turn out well and was very well written. I was very impressed.
When I read about the hunt, and re-lived the days afield all over again, many vivid memories came to mind. I actually got choked up with excitement- all of the hard work and dedication was turned into something successful that I was very proud of. I also have to compliment Tony, his friends, and all of my friends for their help and hard work - I am proud of you guys too!
This spring was truly amazing. I can only hope to do it all over again.

I don't believe so. Not that I know of. You have to be a member of Ducks Unlimited, then you are automatically subscribed for their magazines.

Also a little shout out to Jim Thompson who has a few photos in the issue as well.
For those who want the article you have to subscribe. Go to www.ducks.org , after you sign up you can call their customer support to get an issue put in the mail asap. Otherwise your first issue will probably be the July/August issue.
As for posting it here, there are copyright laws that prohibit distribution without DU's permission, so I discourage anyone from doing that.
Great article guys glad to see the hard work pay off

Thanks for the compliments guys! There was definitely some long hours put in this spring, but it was an absolute riot! I still haven't seen the article, but from the sounds of it, Gary Koehler with Ducks Unlimited Magazine did a heck of a job. Gary was a real treat to hunt with. He has snow goose hunted quite a bit in his lifetime, but hadn't seen anything like this. The expressions on his face after every bunch really said it all and made the day!

Right now DU has the Jan./Feb. articles online under http://www.ducks.org/media/index.asp
They will probably have the recent ones there, but not until this summer.
I am still waiting for mine to come in the mail.

This is an awesome article. I am very proud of these two. Their phones are probably ringing off of the hook. People want to be in the field with these two. So do I. Maybe I can get them to sign a copy for me when I see them.
Good Hunting!

Tyson & Tony and crew did a great job with this spring snow project. Keep in mind that Outdoor writers see a lot of guides and operations in their line of work so for Tyson & Tony (TNT) to be cited for hosting a professional, first-class hunt is very telling of the lengths they went to to promote Avery, our products and the Pro-Staff.
Congratulations again!
p.s. Look for more on this accomplishment soon on the Avery Pro-Staff News forum on this Message Board

Loved the article! You guys are to be commended. Even with your success, there's nothing easy about hunting snow geese, and you guys showed how to do it. It brought a smile to my face when the article referred to Gary Koehlers "surprise" at snows with feet down. Many seasoned snow goose hunters are more amazed at that sight than newbie snow goose hunters. After all snows sliding off at 80 yards is more the norm.
