I am really interested in getting some Full Body Goose Bags for this season and was wondering if anybody has the dimensions on these - so I can see how many I can fit in my truck. I found the dimensions for the 12 slot duck bags on the Avery website, but couldn't find anything for the FB Goose Bag.
Thanks.

I don't have the dimensions, but when considering how many you can fit in your truck, remember the heads will come into play on fitting them in. I have a short bed GMC and can really only get 4 bags in with heads on. The lookers are really tough to fit due to the long necks. I sold all my 2005 FFDs and am buying the 2006 version with removable heads so I should be able get almost 5 or 6 bags in the bed in bags.

Mike, I asked this a couple of weeks ago and Jeremy was all over it.

Duster,
Thanks for the thread. It's just what I needed to know. This message board is an awesome resource. Bearman - thanks too for your info - I have a Dodge Dakota Four door and I think I will only be able to fit four bags with heads on. Looks like I will be ordering four FB Goose Bags. Thanks again for the quick response.

Any info on the size of the 6-slot snow and the new FBM decoy bags?

I did a search and could not find the deminsions on those two. I am trying to plan (read that daydreaming about) my trailer set-up and these details would be of great help.

Thanks,

Tupe

Mike, not sure you will get 4 in there with the heads on, that is a smaller bed than I have....I know you won't if you have any lookers....the lookers with heads on are about as wide as my full size bed. I have a cap on mine too, you might squeeze more in there w/o a cap.

I dont think you should have a problem getting four in the back of our Dakota! I have a Chevy ZR-2 which the bed is about the same size and I fit four bags in mine!! Two bags of feeders and bag of lookers and a bag of actives! It was tight but it worked out good!

Thanks Rick. Is the Snow/blue bag what is should be used for the lessers?

Tupe, I use the regular size 6-slot bag for my lessers and it works out great because you can fit a dozen lessers in them. I stack them belly to belly in the slots to save wear on the paint. Just a thought.

Bearman and Van Wey, thanks for your thoughts and ideas. I realize the lookers may make it a little tight - if I have to, they can ride in the backseat, although I have been using them without the footbases in some cases, so that might make 'em fit. I was hoping to use one bag for a dozen lessers, like Dusty suggested (6 feeders and 6 actives) and then make three "harvester packs" with three feeders, two actives and a looker in each bag. It's worth a shot.

Thanks Duster. I'll give tha a shot. I like th idea of being able to get a dozen in one bag. It would make unloading easier for sure.

What about the full body mallards? If it works for the lessers would a doz. FBMs work? Or might they even fit in a snow/blue six slot?

Any thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

As a Mississippi boy now living up in the land of big geese this whole full body field spread thing is new to me. But it is nice that after more than a quarter century of chasing ducks and geese I get to keep learning new things.

Thanks for the help,

Tupe

00121-- is the above info for the new bag that is coming out or the old one? The other thread shows the dimensions of the slots at 10.5 X 15 X 17 and overall bag 35 X 27. If it is smaller will they still hold a dozen lessers or do I need to buy some bags now before the new ones come out? Thanks

Dalton, this should be the same bag. I took the measurements of mine while dekes were in it in the shop. You'll be fine, let us know how you come out. Good Luck.

00121 was introduced late last year. It will hold Life-Size Lesser, Speck, Snow, Blue, and Greylag full body goose decoys.

Thanks,
