So i just got 1 and a half dozen FB specks and a half dozen snows.

Should i buy the honker bags and try and put 12 in each 6 slot bag
(dont know if that is a rumor that you can fit 12 in a 6 slot bag)

Or should i wait and buy four snow/blue bags?

I think it would be easier on my pocket to buy 2 honker bags, i am a college studnet and money is a factor.... But are the snow bags worth the wait and extra money?

Thanks in advance for all your help and suggestions!

I think it is up to you. You can fit 12 Lesser decoys in the 6-slot full body goose decoy bag (00122 item number). The 6-slot Lesser bags have a better fit, but like you said, "money is an issue."

Thanks,

I would invest in the Snow FB 6-slots. Why? The bags were designed to keep your investments (decoys) from wear (decoys rubbing together). Thus, you put two in one slot, there is a possibility of the decoys rubbing each other (and you do not want that). You want to keep your decoys looking as new as possible for as long as possible. I have never tried to put two snows in one slot of the Canada 6-slot, so I don't know if they will even fit.

I personally would not be cutting corners with such an investment. We make the 6-slots for the FB snows and specks, and I think most would agree.

Thanks for choosing Avery/GHG!!!!

If you can swing it, I would suggest the Snow Goose Slotted Bags. I just wouldn't want my decoys rubbing together if I didn't have to.

Tyler- What kind of bags do you use for your canada fullbodies? You never mentioned them. If you want something a little more versatile, I would get something large enough to fit them in, and use them for double duty. If that isnt a concern, they will be better protected in the snow bags.
This spring the majority of my fullbody decoys went in regular GHG decoy bags. I just shoved as many in as I could in each bag, and carried the bases seperately. That didnt work too bad, and for a short walk from the truck, the decoys didnt get beat up.

Last Fall I had both bags, the six slot honker bags and the six slot snow bags. It is true you can easily put 2 snows per slot in the honker bag. That is nice since you can easily carry a dozen out at a crack. I preferred the 6 slots designed for the snows. It was easier to put the decoys in them as they stood up better, they stacked better in the trailer and in storage back home.

I too have used both bags for lessers and although it is nice to carry a dozen in a single canada 6 slot bag out to the field, I liked the "fit" of the snow 6 slot bag. I would just carry 2 bags at once and it was easier to me, than carrying one canada bag with a dozen lessers in it.

In my neck of the woods, honkers are pretty few and far between, the majority of geese are specks and snows. I just love eating specks and killing them for that matter, and to try and kill a few more next season, my budy and I bought 2.5 dozen speck FB and 1 dozen snow FB.

Where we plan to hunt them is on public land where walks can be far. We were planning to put them in bags, and strap them to our cart along with our blinds and a few duck decoys. So which ever bag might be best... i will get.

As for honker decoys, i lied, i bought 5 old big foots for 30 dollars and they go out on the check of our rice blind, and the specks might join them a day or two here and there.

That simplifies it. Get the snows bag. It will stack much neater, and it doesnt sound like you need anything larger. Good luck - thanks for choosing GHG!

I agree with Mark on this. When you put a dozen decoys in the big 6 slot bags, it makes them a little harder to carry and they don't stack as well. I would definitely go with the smaller snow goose bag.
