Here are a cupple old turkey decoys I was going to throw away.I got to thinking they would be deadly with some motion so I put the motion cone in them, and this is the finished product.I am going to put them to the test in the morning. They should be deadly they have awsome movement with the slightest wind. I let you know what the turkeys think.http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f182/7geese/zinkpics178.jpghttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f182/7geese/zinkpics182.jpg

Great idea Jimmy. Turkey hunting is another sport that movement seems to always help. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Great idea!

Another thing that has served me well this turkey season is the bag from my finisher dog blind. I got tired of the foldable foam decoys popping out of my vest I just roll them up and put 'em in the bag, then my vest.

That idea should work great with the collapsibles also.

Did you cut the hole in the bottom with a hole saw? If so what size? The finished product looks great. That should really work on late season birds that get decoy shy.

Panhandle,
I did use a hole saw. I think it was a 4"cut.The cone at the widest part is 3.5". I just cut the hole about where I thougt the cone should go and then, I found the center point with my finger, after that I drilled a hole for the screw to hold the cone in place.Put the cone in. And thats it.Another decoy brought to life by Avery.

Well, the decoys that I was going to throw away earned there keep this morning! I think this hunt will go down in my books for one of my best hunts. Not because I got a turkey but because myself and my best friend got a double. It was Phillips first turkey. He is hearing impaired so it is hard for him to hear the turkeys and to call. So we set up together on the edge of a feild I did the calling and tried to get him facing the way the turkeys sounded like they were coming. The birds came off the roost hit the feild. They saw the decoys and couldnt resist. There was two gobblers and a hen. Phillip shot first then I followed up on the other. At 5:45am we had our birds. Here are some pictures.

This was one of the my best hunts i ever had with my best friend jimmy. Because we both got double n i dont think theres anything better than getting two big gobblers together at the same time. Its was a perfect morning weather n around 60 degrees. Jimmy can call some turkeys pretty good n they just walked straight to the decoys n jimmy telling me they re coming n i cant hear that good but i just stay there n not move at all with my gun locked n loaded n here come two gobblers n we folded them. Its was awesome n hope to get some more later this week.
