I sat down today and made a list of the decoys I still want to buy before September, and the total amount came to 570 dollars plus shipping. And thats the bear minimum amount of decoys. It just really shocked me. Anyone else have this?

That is a small problem. Try getting a good light goose spread and ffd spread together. I am just at stage II! I fear I won't ever catch up unless Freddie gets carpotunnel.

( clearing my throat)....2,500 for me..oooppps did i say that out loud? Im working my A$$ off this summer for a new 7X14 foot trailer along with about 7 to 9 dozen pro grades..I supposed to be saving that money for food during the hardships of college life at the Main U this fall...looks like i will have to settle for goose, duck, venison, grouse and walleye for the whole year..haha

Makes it even harder to get your spread when you have to buy retail;) .... Cheers!

$3600, for me. Thats for 5 dozen Pro-grades, 2 dozen FFD's and 36 Pro-Grade lessers. Also six slot bags for all of them. We sold our old spread so that will help out with some but there is still a lot to make up. Oh well, it's going towards what I love to do more than any thing else in this world: KILL GEESE!!

Yes I'm in the same situation also. All of my earnings go into new gear, decoys, calls, ect...In the end it will all pay off with limits of green and honkers.

I'm up to $1200 right now. Looks like i'm going to have to start eating ramen noodles for every meal. Oh well you just have to get your priorities right. Decoys always come before food. :)

Over $1500 for the year myself. But I am just building my field spread. Trailer by the end of the summer and some bits and pieces for the water set and its going to outpace the value of my truck.

Fully expect to have over $15,000 in it within three years, and not one single regret. Doing what I love is worth eveery penny to have the right gear. And more and more I am finding Avery/Greenhead Gear on the top of the list.

I would hate to post up the number I spent this year. I know for a fact it breaks well over the 5 digit mark and a good third of it is in decoys alone. New trailer, new 60 Hp, second boat, second layout, 300 new dekes, and a new 16' trailer the total has accumulated. I was just lucky enough to finally graduate with my BS and land a good job. It also helps that the wife did the same a few years back. We have been very lucky. Waterfowling is an expensive sport, it can be done for less but I enjoy it enough to spend all my money on it. If I had to sell my entire rig I think I could pay off half of the house. Just don't tell my wife.

If anyone wants to mow the grass I will pay in decoys....:D :D

I am sitting on 1200 on decoys alone. I would really like to get a new trailer and a different boat. We will have to see how the finances are sitting.

I am afraid to add up. Add in the shipping to get North of the border and the exchange rate and things start to get scary!

My ammount is up near the $3500 to $4000 mark. I have been saving for some time now and working a ton. It will be well worth every penny come this fall though.

I feel all your pain guys. I just got done spending 1050 on a new SX2 and some sporting clays stuff. I don't even have a patternmaster or enough duck loads for next year. Then add up a dozen FFD Lessers, a dozen full body mallards, more floater decoys, line, crimps, weights, a couple bags, an odd call and maintinance stuff for all of it and you have a figure I care not to even mutter. But It will all be worth it in the end.:D
