I have a request. When you guys take pictures of your awesome
looking decoys could you provide text under them with the details
of the camera/settings that captured the image?

This is something that magazines like National Geographic does.

Reason I ask is that I am in the market for a high quality digital
camera and would like to see real life examples before I buy.

Thanks.

Gino

Gino,

That is a good idea. However, I don't know if you will really be able to tell anything because to post pictures, they have to be reduced so much that I don't think you will be able to tell that big a difference in quality. Bottom line...If you want a great digital to take very high quality photos go with and SLR. Either a Canon or a Nikon will do the deal. You will probably get about a 50/50 response on which one is better, I think you can just flip a coin unless you already have SLR lenses for one or the other. Check out the Canon 20d or the Nikon equivalent...I think it is a D50.

Christian is correct, but also none of us claim to be professional photographers. I would bet most of the settings are on Auto. When it comes to high quality photos 85% of the photo if not more is your lenses. You may want to find a professional camera shop or a photo club near you to ask certain questions if you are looking at becoming serious. But like Christian said there are many great cameras on the market and fro around $1000-1500 you can have a great body but you lenses may cost 3X that if you want super high quality. You get what you pay for.
Again, some may disagree with me, but they have not compared photos side by side on high resolution quality monitors or have tried to enlarge photo's side by side to see the difference. I compare it to watching HDTV vs regular TV or looking through Tasco Binoculars vs Leica. Both get the job done but totally different quality. Two different worlds.
