Is there any word on if touch up paint kits will be available in the future? I have some dekes I would love to touch up. I know I can go to the hobby store and buy some acrylic paint and mix it to get the colors I want but I would have no problem spending my money on premixed paints that match what is being used on the decoys. Seems like a win-win situation for Avery and its customers.

This has been brought up in the past. We have kind of the same issue that you have. We can't import the paint we use on our decoys. I don't know the specifics. I just know that we can't do it. Anything we do here will probably not be an exact match.

I think it has something to do with the fact that paint is considered a "hazardous material."

I work in the print industry and any paint color can be matched anywhere, heck even your local home depot can do it. I would assume that in the manufacturing process there are specs. for everything from the plastic mixture to the paint mixtures as this is standard manufacturing practice. This is done to be able to consistently make the same products so that there is some sort of quality control.
Honestly to make a paint kit would be incredibly simple for any manufacturer to do.
It is something that would make it easier for customers to clean up their decoys so that they look good every season. I would pay $10-20 for a kit to clean up each species of decoys I own and I own 7 different species of GHG decoys.
I kind of have a feeling this goes more along the lines of wanting people to sell their old paintless decoys and buy new ones than to repaint decoys and not buy new ones. We have become more of a disposable society but if this is the thinking then I am disaapointed. I love the decoys and highly recommend them to everyone I know. A paint kit just seems like something that would be a win-win for everyone.
