Recently Avery Pro-Staffers Heather Reddemann, and Ryan Barthel had the opportunity to attend the Cannon River Valley Ducks Unlimited Chapter Kids Day event. This event was held in Northfield Minnesota. The purpose of the event is to expose kids to new experiences in the outdoors. Kids went to different stations to learn a variety of new things. Field hunting with layout blinds, duck calling, duck identification, gun safety just to name a few.

The kids were also introduced to Trap shooting and were able to shoot on a pellet rifle range. It was great to see boys and girls of all ages getting involved with the outdoors. Heather and Ryan brought a small spread of decoys along with some Finisher blinds. Kids had the opportunity to get into the blinds, and get first hand experience with them.

The kids were also able to participate in the building of wood duck houses. There was a dog training demo as well as the Dakota County K-9 drug enforcement dog demo. The entire event was run by volunteers. These kids are the next generation of outdoorsman and Heather and Ryan say it was a great event, and they both look forward to next years event.
