OK I'm, just wanting a few snow, blues and speck but no one will sell me some so I'm hopeing to buy my own and sell off the rest to any one that want to take part... Please let me know what you want to get and as soon as the case of 6 is spoken for, I can order it and let you know the final costs. after i get money in hand. i will ship then out ups ground to you. I'm wanting some feeder snows, blues, or speck. . i only want 1 or two of each. and my active i should be fine ( thanks to clayton). but if i get people that want 6 active, i can slipt the case and send them to you. But before i get ahead of my self, lets see who wants what first. I can take paypal or money order. check will need to clear first...pm me or bump me up and will go from there.
If this works great. if not than i' m no better off then i was before.

I have a question and please don't take it the wrong way.
Why do you just want so few of these decoys? Most people are looking for hundreds of these things to put together a spread. We didn't think that a Harvester pack was necessary for that reason.
Thanks,
Clayton

I think Harvester packs are desirable for all species in which there are feeder and active styles. I like redbarron have a few snows, blues, and soon to be specks. For variety I would prefer some feeders and some actives. I have had to buy one of each pack and then go through the trouble of selling off the rest. Many of us are limitied by space or finances for large spreads and may have mostly a Canada spread because that is our dominant bird we kill/hunt but would like a few snows/blues/specks for those rare times that these species come by. I myself wanted to add a couple of specks to my mostly Canada spread. I would prefer o have had an active and feeder but didn't feel like buying a 6 pack of each for just 1 decoy from each pack so I just got the active pack and will just keep 2 active. I have a small snow spread of 6 feeders, 6 actives, and 6 blue actives. I would prefer to have several blue feeders instead of some of the actives but again didn't feel like messing with selling off the extras.

sometimes a mixed group of 5 0r 6 is all you need. I was in the same dilemna last year when i went to get some full body specks. clayton hit it on the head. I think the "hundreds" would be a small minority.

Rick I think the demand will be there but we don't have the option. and you may be over looking us little guys(weekend hunters). We hunt and see 95% canada here and just want a few for confidence. and white in a field will stand out and again funds and the wife saying no to getting 1 dozen to the snows and trying to get my canada up to a huntable level.. I'm short of fund now with all the new things i want and could never afford. so piece meal is my only option. I have 6Pro grade actvie and 6 feeder lesser. 2 blues active and 12 oversize shell. 2 speck and snow soon.... and paying $160 for 6 goose harvesters pack is hard to tie up for maybe 7 outings a years not to include a $150 ground blind, $150 goose call. so some times little is better.
not to include the duck decoys i wanted .
So rick and other, don't take this the wrong way but if I could afford 100's of them and hunted 60 plus days a season. i would'nt be a family man with two boy. I kill maybe 10 geese a year compared to some who 100's. so buying alot is not cost effective and Rick i thank you for the Question. your always a great help...

I understand that. We will look into this for 2007, and I'll ask around in terms of dealers and see what they think.

We are definitely not saying that it is a bad idea....We may have totally missed this one. This may be one we underestimated the demand on.

I can guarantee one thing. We will listen to what you are telling us. If the responses warrant us making Harvester packs in all species, we will get it done.
Thanks,

Shell goose decoys have always been sold in "harvester packs" for all species.
Thanks for looking into it for 2007.

I agree with only wanting a few snows mixed in with the Canadas. I am thinking of adding 6 snows, but would like 3 active & 3 feeder. We see some snows, but not many.

I went through this last year. We see several small flocks of snows (like 2 to 12) mixing in around the end of October. I called several dealers to see if they would split them up they said no and I totally understand why. So I began badgering snow hunters on whether the actives or the feeders were the way to go. I also tried to remember what the snows were doing when I saw them. I seemed like most of the time they were active and off to the side or mixed in and feeding. I purchased 6 active. I wish I had tried this method it would have been nice to have 3 of each. I have a question. It seemed like canadas were very nervous around the snows even when I put them off to the side and the days I didn't bring them the snows flew right by. When I did bring them they never showed. Is it effective to throw in a couple of snows with about 5 dozen canadas? Why did the canadas react nervously?

A Snow, blue or speck harvester packs of 2 active and 4 feeders would be great. We don't see these like the dakota boys. where we need hundreds and and hunt 80% of the season. I have been watching ebay for 6 months now hoping to just get a couple snow or blue. and all the 2 and 3 packs go for almost as much as a pack off 6, new , to include the 20 shipping they charge.
6 specks 3 feeders and 3 actives went for $150. 3 pro grade geese $90.
and 6 new are $140 the demand for the small amount and varity is out there and some dealer on ebay are cashing in....

I like the idea of a box of 6 snows for the guys that just get a few Snows in their area. Even Wayner only put out a few to match the flocks in ND last Fall.
I think I'll have to get a few boxes of Snows and make these up!

Has Avery/GHG thought about selling Snows and Blues together in a Harvester Pack in 2007?

RedBarren,
It sounds like it's time to buy a six-pack of each and hit Ebay. With that kind of deal you would have enough cash left over to buy a slotted decoy bag and gas for a couple of hunts.

I can see a mixed box of actives and feeders. However, the mix of blues and snows is really a hard one. Example, from my experiences, the light geese flocks are 80% snow 20% blue in Western Saskatchewan. Yet from what I had seen in Eastern Manitoba it is closer to 50/50 and here in MN it is more like 90% blue and 10% snows when you see them. Retailers selling on the Internet will have an even harder time figuring out what to order. I do think a box of 3 actives, 3 feeders would be fine for full body's though. Personally I have had very bad luck with using snows in the honker spread unless...UNLESS scouting has shown that they are mixing it up and you can get away with it. For visibility the numbers, flags, and calls seem to do the trick.

I would like a choice between all adults or juvies for snows, I have brought this up a few times. For anyone that hunts Sask in the fall the all white spread you can run your e-caller so that means your juvies stay in the trailer if you want to run a e-caller. We all know how vocal the snows are having a good quality tape or CD in your e-caller will improve your spread that much more. I wish GHG would consider a all adult pack of snows.. Thanks for all of the fantastic decoys that you have worked so hard on to get out for the fall of 06.. Boon
