Is there any talk about making a swan decoy,

I heard there might be.

That would be great.

It has been brought up a couple of times, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest in it. There aren't many states that have a swan season. Do you think there would be a lot of interest?

Thanks,

as an MD hunter who won't be able to shoot a swan... i wouldn't mind buying a pair of nice looking swan decoys for confidence and visibility. quite a few areas where i consistantly see ducks bombing into flocks of swans.

I would definitely get a pair just for the fact that they would add a lot of confidence to a water spread. I see ducks loafing with swans all the time.

Rick

They would be a great confidence decoy for MD and other states that have no season, But I also hunt in NC and get a permit every year to kill a swan.

There are only two companies that make swan decoys and they dont look very good at all, I figured GHG could make a good one they have gotten it right every time before.

Also swans used to be easy to kill, we would but out two to three canvas decoys that weigh about 50 lbs a peice, call alital and you had your swan. Now days it takes at least a dozen or two to get them to even look. They are wiseing up just like the rest of waterfowl.

I think there is not a big demand in every state but the ones that hunt them the decoy would sell very good in my opinion, Kind of like sea duck decoys not every state hunts them but in MD alone you would sell thousands of decoys.

NY also has no swan season, but we always see ducks coming in to land with swans. I think they would stand out nice too. JMO.

thanks for always taking your customers opinions,

I think swans sold as a single or pair would work very well as a confidence decoys as many have already stated. I don't think it will be a number one seller, but in time, it may be worth adding to the product list.

I am with you guy's as well. I think they would make a great confidence decoy and guys with Swan permits would eat these things up. I know that I would use them.

That would be an awesome confidence decoy for any water spread duck or goose. Plus, as a bonus if your also hunting swans if you had a couple they would probably fly into an awesome looking GHG decoy.

I had three O/S goose Floater that got the paint chipped up. So I went and got some flat white spray paint and painted one semi rester and a caller and a high looker and wa~la home made Swans decoys. We see 4 mute swans here all year and tundras late season.

swans here in nj all year round I would buy them. I would sell as pairs 1 adult and 1 juvinal. Like the snows. I would also make it a wistler or trumpeter not a mute

What do you think of these swan decoys.
They were home made by a guy in SC and they were casted from a real swan.

The detail on them is incredible up close and from a distance and they sit and ride in water just like a live bird.

I am all for the swan decoy. I started this topic about 4 or 5 months ago. It grew to 5 pages or something like that. I sure would like some GHG swans in my spread. Wayne, I got the place, hope you get a NC permit.

I think a pair of swan decoys would be great. I would buy them mainly as confidence decoys but also for when i get a swan tag.

CurrituckBoy, that's a good looking decoy. As for Avery, I wish the swan decoys were available. I could use some fine looking Swan decoys.

Hey guys, once Avery comes out with a Swan decoy, the competition will be chasing behind Avery again.

Lets hope Avery will Git-R-Done

I think a pair of swan decoys would be a great addition to just about every spread. Also, I think Freddie would enjoy carving it!

I know the guys out here would love a couple of swan decoys in the rice blind spreads. There are so many swans here during season, you hardly every pass a field that doesn't have at least one swan in it in December and January. The decoys would be a confindence bird only, unfortunately.

We get swans here as well. I love seeing them come in. We had a few that came within 30 yards of our blind up on Gravel Slough one day. Pretty cool sight.
