View Full Version : Yet another trailer question.
I have been doing some trailer shopping but finding prices on 5x10s in my local market has been either impossible or so widely varied that I have no idea what is a fair price.
What would some of you folks say is average/fair price for a basic, no frills 5x10 single axle?
Thanks,
Tupe

I would say between 1500.00 to 2000.00.

You may want to do a search on msi trailers in Elkhart,Indiana. 80% of all trailers are made in north central Indiana. They have about every size and color from about 6 different manufacturers. Good luck!

In Virginia, 6x10 enclosed trailers are going for $2650 - $3000, 6x12 enclosed trailers are going for $3050 - $3400. Used trailers are going for $500 less than retail.
I would like to thank Rusty Hallock for posting pictures of his trailer on here. With his help, I was able to set up my trailer similar to his.
Last year I was able to put the following in my 6 x 12 enclosed trailer.
My 250 ArticCat ATV
2 blinds
& my 96 fullbody/motion decoys
I just might be able to put another 18 more fullbodies in my trailer this year.

Todd,
Avery is lucky to have a dedicated hunter such as yourself as a loyal customer, we thank you for choosing us! Even though it didn't take much arm twisting, you know a good thing when you see it. Hey, seeing as how most all of your decoys will be on motion this year thanks to the Conversion Kits, I can let you in on a little secret about hauling more while taking up less space. Give me a call.
Tripp,
What are you saying? Am I going to know it's you when I see it passing on the highway?

You should be able to get a brand new 5 x 10 for around $1,800 depends upon any extras you may want. Northern Indiana is your best bet. That's where I drove to pick up my trailer a few years ago. It is a 6 x 12 for $2,400 with stone guard.

If Avery made a five foot decal, I bet I know who's trailer we would find it on.
Thanks Paul, I'll give ya a call.
Thanks for the help folks. I had a feeling I was in for a drive to N Indiana.
The local Menards has some 5x8's but they are bar tounge and only have 4' walls.
Trying to keep it light, I drive a Jeep Cherokee Sport and I don't want too much trailer for the truck. But at the same time I don't want too little for my rig.
The season I am running 3 1/2 dz GHG lessers, 2 dz GHG Mallard Full bodies, 2dz GHG mallard shells and around 36 mixed silos(maybe). That plus two SUB blinds and a Hide a pooch.
I have the lessers one dz per 6 slot bag so I will be adding 1/2 doz of something to fill the other side of one bag. Maybe a handfull of specks.
Can't see the spread growing too much over the next year or so, but you never know? I know I could fit it all in a 5x8 with 5' walls, but the 5x10 gives me a bit more room without adding too much weight and drag.
If I can come in at or just under $2,000 I'll be happy.
Thanks for the information.
