Avery Pro-Staffers in Summer Issue of Delta Waterfowl Report

Avery Pro-Staffers Grant Hillman and Jason Campbell worked together with the NWTF and Delta Waterfowl to put on a hunt for handicapped hunters. Both Grant and Jason are Delta Waterfowl committee members and volunteered to be mentors for the Wheelin’ Sportsman Duck and Goose hunt in southern Louisiana. Grant and Jason both did some of the calling for 11 handicapped hunters who all had a great time. The highlight of the hunt was when young Oliver at 6 years of age was able to harvest his first goose which was a Specklebelly and it was harvested with a .410 shotgun!

Thanks for the kind words. It was really an honor just to be asked to help out. We had no idea that the hunt was going to be mentioned in Delta. Several group pictures were taken but the one with the little man holding his goose was priceless. He would not let go of that goose! His grandfather is holding him. Oliver did in fact shoot that speck with a 410 (#4 bismuth). He was the only one in the blind to shoot. The speck was a young single that worked to about 15 yards. Can't wait for next years hunt.
