View Full Version : Thanks: A farewell to the off-season

Given a few of the posts that have popped up recently and over the course of the summer, I'd like to say a welcomed good-bye to the "off-season". Only 3 days to go for most people.
A big thanks to the Avery staff, pro-staffers and really all forum members on here. I truly enjoy this community and for the most part I think it accomplishes what this forum was meant to do: share ideas and tips on hunting and provide feed back and ideas to the company that has taken the lead in the waterfowling equipment industry.
Thanks to all for making this off-season more enjoyable/bearable than the last. Lets remember to keep in touch for the next five months, share some photos, share success stories and mishaps, and above all, remember to be careful out there.
Good luck in 2006-2007.

Montauker,
I couldn't have said it better. I hope our schedules can work out so we can get out and take a crack at the birds together sometime this season. Best of luck!

I won't be putting the bead on any geese this weekend, but Saturday is opening day of dove season around here and my trigger finger is already itching like crazy. Good luck to you guys, and don't forget to post some pictures.

Thanks to this message board I survived the most dreadful thing in life. THE OFF-SEASON! I couldn't have done it without everyone's help on here. I too will be out this weekend taking a crack at the long necks. I hope to see a lot of pictures from everyones hunts and I'll do my best to post up pics in between hunts. Good Luck everyone and be safe.

Thank goodness the season is almost here. I was having terrible dreams that the season was somehow getting further away. Though my scouting trips for geese were not promising, I am hoping that we at least get a few locals to come crashing into the middle of the new GHG spread I'll be setting. There just don't seem to be as many resident geese in my area as there were in the past several years, and with the warm weather I doubt they will be migrating any time soon. In any case, I was as giddy as a kid on Christmas just to go and splash around in my waders again! Plenty of ducks around. Too bad we don't have an early teel season.

I am looking forward to seeing everyones pictures and hearing the stories that will come with the opener. I am a completely new hunter heading into this season, with calls recommended by MB Members, Decoys I wouldn't have known about if it werent for the boards, and a whole lot of knowledge that it would have taken me years to accumulate. Along with everyone else I offer a sincere thanks to everyone that has helped me out on this Message Board!
Good Luck to all
Aaron
