I would like to welcome all of you to a new element of the Avery® Product Question and Answers Forum. Starting today, Avery’s Website Photography Committee will feature a Weekly Product Spotlight. The upcoming Product Spotlight threads will consist of short write-ups describing individual products along with the features and benefits of using the product. Feel free to post some of your own personal input and tips for the upcoming products threads of the week. Below is the first Product Spotlight review to begin the new process. I hope all of you enjoy it.

Avery Website Photography Committee
Weekly Product Spotlight

Name: Tyson Keller

Date: September 4, 2006

Product Name: Avery® Power Flag™

Product Features and Benefits:

• 10.5” Easy-Grip handle
• 17” fiberglass backbone for wing flapping with minimal effort
• Aluminum wing shaft receiver for added durability
• Double reinforced stitching
• Fiberglass wing shafts for lifelike wing flapping motion
• Angled wings to match real bird movement
• 30” length for all day flagging
• 46” wingspan
• Available in Canada goose and Snow goose

Practical Product Uses:

The Avery® Power Flag™ can be used for a variety of hunting situations. Use the Power Flag™ to provide movement and lifelike wing flapping motion for water or field hunting situations. From pit blinds to layout blinds, the Power Flag’s wing flapping movement will provide great visibility to distant geese approaching.

Tips for Using the Product:

Although most layout blinds offer flagging ports, I have found that it is easier for me to place the Power Flag™ directly behind the headrest of the blind. It is very easy to have the flag’s handle propped up against the back of the blind, which provides quick and easy access. Simply reaching behind your head and lifting the flag for a few quick flaps can be done effortlessly.

Additional Notes (If Needed):

After using the Power Flag™ last season, I can truly say that most of my skepticism regarding flag durability and usability has disappeared. The Power Flag offers a great design that is comfortable and user friendly. Based on personal hunting use and reports from other hunters, I noticed that the Easy-Grip handle and flag design did not fatigue the flagger’s arm during long days afield. The double reinforced stitching and heavy duty material will offer durable use day after day. I am convinced that the Avery Power Flag is the best goose flag on the market.

Cool this is a great idea. Will the Pro-Staffers take turns on products, or will Tyson be doing most of this?

Ryan, We will be alternating as a committee. Look for different products each time from different Pro-Staff Committee members. This goes for the Bi-Monthly Photography Tips as well. Tys is our Chairman, and has worked hard lining all this up.

Ryan,

As Jeremy mentioned, our eight Website Photography Committee members will be submitting pre-scheduled weekly reviews for the Avery Product Spotlights and for the Bi-Monthly Photography tip located on the Outdoor Photography Forum. I am glad to hear that you are excited about upcoming threads. It should be informative and fun!

Guys...I am very happy to see all the postive responses here about the new Product Spotlight and the Photography Tips. Tyson and the other Pro-Staffers on the Photography Committee have put together a nice program and they are all to be commended for it!

I think this is a great idea for two reasons. First and the most obvious reason is because it showcases a different products which helps Avery, but second because they will answer a lot of repeated questions on the product questions and answers boards. I am very excited for both of these new ideas however I have a suggestion.

Is there a way to "sticky" both the Weekly Product Spotlight and the Bi-Monthly Photography posts on the Q&A's and the Outdoor Photograpy boards because they are going to get lost in the boards and members new and old will have to search for them. I love both these ideas I think they are great, but they are going to get lost which I think will take away from the work you guys are doing. If not sticky them maybe you guys could make them new forums on the boards which the only threads that can be started is by the Avery guys making the new threads. Especially the weekly product spotlight because if I have a question on a product this is where I come. These are just suggestions I have, not to take away from anything you guys are doing like I said I think they are awesome. Thanks

Zach...thanks for the heads up on this. I have made this thread a sticky and since I am not a moderator on the Outdoor Photograpy florum, I have requested that admin make that thread a sticky also.
