What do you guys use and or think is the ideal snow goose getter for the consevation season. 12-10? Semi-Auto? Pump? Choke and shell choice? Thanks.

I would go with an 12 gauge auto with an extension tube. AS far as chokes, I like the Terror tubes and Winchester shells.

For nothing but snows, I would be shooting a 10 guage semi auto with 1 or B shot. I guess mine would be a Browning 10 with a PM choke shooting federal 3.5's

I think this worked well up in Minnesota.

The biggest problem with extended magazines and super tight chokes is too many people have a tendency to just throw thier shot up in the air and hope for the best, regardless of how high the birds are flying. Just keep shooting and flock shoot. This cripples a heck of a lot of birds. I know we are trying to reduce the population but hunter image still needs to be considered. Get them in close, pick out the birds you want to shoot, aim...AIM and then pick up the bird you targeted. Enjoy watching the birds work your GreenHead Gear full body spread. To me, the right decoy set up is much more important to your success then the perfect gun set up.

I shoot a Browning BPS 10 gauge with a pattern master choke. As Brett said, alot of people throw shells up in the air, thats why I use the pump. It gives me an extra second between shots to locate another bird to shoot. I like the federal ultra-shock BB load.

I like high-velocity 1's or BB's and a good-patterning choke (e.g. Patternmaster) in ANY GUN YOU CAN SHOOT WELL!;) There's no need to throw ten rounds into the sky if you're only going to put down three birds. Magazine extensions are great, but only when the shooting is close and heavy.

Benelli SBE w/ Sure Cycle extended tube and a Patternmaster. Add some HS Dead Coyote and you are done!

Snow geese are in and out of range quickly, so I agree with the guys who say you don't need extended magazine tubes. But you can, and should, be able to get off up to 4 or 5 quality shots if you have a quick-handling gun with not a lot of recoil. That would be a 12-gauge semi-auto using 3" steel 1's or BB's. You can use other guns and other loads but you'll either be giving up kill opportunities, turning your shoulder into hamburger, or both.

a SBE with Sure cycle 16in extension and a Angle Port #15 or #25 choke
