I will be heading out to Nodak for the houth on the 16 and 17. We usally hunt ducks and geese in the same fied at the same time. I was wondering what your favorite setup for ducks and geese in the same field. Usally we make a half a cirlce of goose decoys and then put mallard decoys on the inside edge.
Thanks for any help-Cody

Any time I am heading out I want to scout and see what pattern live birds are in as well as the kind of vocals they are using. I try to copy that. I have a tendency not to copy other hunters. That just compares me to them. I try to match live birds in live situations. When I copy live birds in the field I plan on hunting my success rate it better!

Brett is right on, let the birds tell you how to set up. Scouting is critical.
Good Luck!

I will put a small group up wind of the geese and mix a few in with the geese as well depending on the set up you use. Brett is right on the money scouting is the key to all successful hunts.

This may be a stupid question, but what is a houth? Is that a typo or something I've just never heard of?
