I am putting camo on the boat tommorow and I was wondering what everybody does and uses for stencils. I made a stencil today by drawing reeds and cattails on a posterboard and cut them out. It worked pretty good. Any suggestions?

Bailey- I went to a craft store and bought a blank stencil sheet. I then laid out my favorite camo shirt under it, traced it and used a razor knife to cut it out. It looked great!

That is a good idea Mark!
What we did is held the vegetation of our choice up to the boat as we painted, which is basically the opposite of using a stencil. In hindsight I dont know how it worked but it looks pretty good to me. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Winner, winner...chicken dinner! I painted a kayak some years ago using the method Aaron suggests and it came out great. I put down a base layer of a couple colors and then held the vegetation over them and gave a couple of swipes with the spray paint. Clean up was a snap also...no stencils to clean.
