Avery Pro-Staffers Rich Good and Eric Olsen attended the Gander Mountain Waterfowl Weekend September 9th and 10th 2006. The event took place at the new Gander Mountain located in Joliet Illinois, off of Illinois Route 30 and Interstate 55. Both Days were packed with calling contests. Saturday events included Duck calling contests from Juniors to Open levels. Each level brought out 10-12 callers. The Grand Prize for the Northern Illinois Reginal Duck was a ticket to the World in Arkansas in late November. Avery Pro-Staffer Dan Oberfoell took the honors this year. Congrats to Dan!

While set up at the Avery Green Head Gear Booth on Sunday Avery Pro-Staffers Rich Good and Eric Olsen took the time to help some youngsters practice their calling techniques. Calls were tuned and talk of fowl was in the air. The cool weather had all in attendance pumped for the up coming season. Sunday's event became a bit more ducky as the weather was gray,wet, and windy. Goose calling was the event of the day with Juniors through Open braving the cooler weather. Avery Pro-Staffer Rich Good was asked to assist as a Judge for the goose calling contest. Many people used the event to gain some information about different products. Avery Pro-Staffers were asked lots of questions and most all who had questions bought some new Avery gear. It was a great event and Rich and Eric are looking forward to next years event already!
