Well, basically I get a bucket with some dirt in it, fill it up with water so its pretty sloppy and then rub it all over the blind by hand. Then I let it set in the sun for about a day and then brush it with a broom to knock all the heavy stuff off.

I do exactly like Jason said and here are some pics to illustrate the "down and dirty" method!!

Woodduck,
There are also other methods that guys use, Ive heard of guys spray painting their blinds as well. I tried this on my power hunter and it didnt turn out too bad, I still prefer using mud however.
Nice pics Derek.

I set up my blinds in the yard, mix a 5 gallon bucket of dirt and water to the consistancy of cement, and tell my 5 year old daughter to go to town on it. No one can make a bigger mess than a kid, so I figure she will do a great job on the blind!

I think it is important to re-mud the blinds occasionally. This evening I probably go hunting in a fiels with no cover, as it has just been seeded.
With a little experience you learn to mud your blind in advance, so the mud has dried to the right colour to match the field. Perhaps you can add some small shadows with a black spray paint.
Good luck

In the photo's above, Derek is showing a great technique for mudding. Atta Boy Derek, don't be afraid to get dirty.
Ditto on up keep on mudding throughout the season. I am amazed at the blinds I see that the mud has worn off through the season. It really needs to kept up with. Good advice Dan. Excellent photo(s) Derek.

I now know why I was not getting it done right...I wasnt using my knee and thigh to mud the blinds, just my hands...tactical error on my part. I may just roll around in the mud and then the blind.
