this weekend i picked up 6 FFD full body feeders with 6 slot bag and 12 FFD shells, how does everyone protect the flocking when hauling and storing them? should i take the heads off before puting them in the 6 slot bag or will they be fine if they are left on? also with the shells if i stack them together without putting something in between them or putting them in individual bags im afraid it will scrape the flocking off, whats everyone do with there ffd shells? thanks

As far as the FFD go, I leave the heads on them when I put them in the bag, then I get some black socks and put over the heads to keep them from getting beat up during transport.

I stack the 6-slot bags on top each other and have found no problem. I am going to put a piece of bubble wrap in between each of my FFD shells. Hope this helps,Good luck this season.

I was thinking about how to protect the flocking on FFD shells...It seems it would be really easy to get some spray adhesive and put a good coating on the inside of the shell then put some bubble wrap or some other material used for packing inside each shell that way you won't have extra material everytime you unload your shells. I thought it would be a good idea!

We stacked them all of last year while testing these and they held up great. But you guy's brought up some good ideas as well. There really is only a few spots where they rub, because they stack so well. Let me know what you come up with.

I first bag the ffd's in an individual bag, and then I put them in a 6 slot. It really cuts down on the wear, and keeps the decoys clean during transport.

I'm not sure if the new flocking holds up better than the flocking kits, but I'm not sure if I would use bubble wrap on the shells. We had tried that years ago with bubble wrap and it seems that the bubble wrap is a little too "sticky" on the side that has the bubbles on it. After a few trips the finish started to wear on the decoys and the flocking because the bubble wrap wasn't slippery enough. We ended up just using some plastic that you can buy in a home depot store and cut it into sheets. It seemed to be much more slippery and didn't wear on the decoys. Try pressing some bubble wrap between your fingers and rub it back and forth, you'll find that it is slippery on the flat side but grabs quite a bit on the bubble side.

The FFDs do stack very well in the 6-Slot Decoy Bags but it would not hurt to put a "BLACK" sock over each of the heads. It will not leave any other colored material on the heads except for black and it will only help protect the heads. Let us know which route you take.
Good Hunting!
