GHG Hoodie

This is kind of a funny deke, but I am going to try to get a hooded merganser this year for the wall. The regular ringneck decoy worked real good last year, but I missed a couple of easy shots. They are real small and cagey. I know the bill isn't even close but they aren't the smartest birds on the water.

A few of these set out should bring them right in.

p.s. I guess I am a little bit old school as hoodie means a merganser to me, not something you wear.

Yea I've got one at home right now i need to get mounted. He is a big ole fat rascal.

I remember one time we were jump shooting and birds and i was paddling the boat and we came around a corner and we about caught one while he was sleeping. He woke up about the time the dog was about to grab him and he was dazed and confused and he just jumped into the water . It was funny as crap. Don't know why i shared this.
