It was a wet steady rain for opener this year and man did we have a great hunt. 6 of us limited out in 2 1/2 hrs with are 36 ducks. The bag included of a good mixture of ducks as well with about half and half big to small ducks. Let me tell you, it was all because of are GHG and Avery products. We hunted a pothole on the local res.The 6 of us hunted out of our funishers and over are fullbody mallards and it did the trick. It was raining pretty good so im sorry to say i have dont have any pics.

We had the same resluts in southern Iowa. Three of us limited out in 45 min. We used GHG Full body Black ducks and teal floaters. We also had some Mallards, but mostly teal. Ill try and get some photos tomorrow.

Congrat's gentlemen, we seem to have taken care of business in Northern Iowa as well. Limits of mallards over fullbody mallards and pintails in a sileage field.

Congrats guys! We took care of them in Central Iowa as well ;-) I headed back home this past weekend to hunt with my dad, and his hunting buddy and his son on our old stomping grounds around Des Moines. We hunted a controlled marsh. You draw numbers in the morning (1-12) and with those numbers are the order you get to pick your blind in. Well I drew and got #2 pick so we knew that we were definitely going to be in one of the good blinds. We ended up killing our 4 man limit of 24 birds at 11am with a flock of mallards that were right in our face and I came up, found a drake and crunched him. We ended up with 13 blue wings, 8 drake woodies, 2 drake mallards, and a drake pintail.

We hunted over 1 doz teal decoys, 5 GHG L/S Mallards (4 hens/1 drake), 1 GHG pintail drake, and 1/2 doz GHG Gadwalls. With birds not having much color this time of year we took out pretty much all our drake decoys and kind of threw together a different spread that was easy to haul the 1 1/2 mile walk.

Here are a few pictures from the day:

One side of our spread:

Our landing hole:

The other side of our spread (look behind the grass in the bottom corner):

Lizzy (our buddies dog) bringing back the pintail my dad and I doubled up on:

The kill for the day: (L to R Jake, my Dad, and I and Jakes dad is taking the picture)

And last would be a close up of my dad and I's birds (those 2 woodies are VERY colorful for this time of year! one would have been a mounter had I not shot him at 7 yards)

Hey Jeremy Abbas, that picture with the banded duck in the labs' mouth that is one of the coolest pics I have seen on here and is worthy of a frame in the house I think very cool.

Thanks DUX, We had a good start to the Duck season in Iowa. We rang up 72 birds opening weekend, just so happened EM found some tin in the pile and thought she should have her pic taken. Good Luck this year.
