It sounds like were are going to have a preety large hunting group this year in Nodak. Im wondering what is the maximum of hunters you hunt with in a field. I ve heard most guys only hunt about 5 at the max.

We hunt typically 6 max. We did hunt a field with 2 non-hunters and five hunters for a total of 7 blinds. It worked out ok, but I would prefer to keep it under 6 as often as possible. It is hard to disguise that number of blinds, and you are also getting yourself pretty spread out.

I'm like Dave no more than 6. I've hunted 8 before and had a good day but there was a lot of confusion on shots. It's hard to hide that many blinds effectively the way I like to hide them.

At one time, we had 10-11 guys in one field. We killed out with no problem.
Remember those lesser's that year George ?

I have hunted in some very large groups of over 10 but my favorite is between 4-6. Good luck in North Dakota.

If you have good cover it does not matter. I went on a Canada hunt in the Texas panhandle a few years ago... bunch of guide service guides got together the last weekend of the season........we had 26 guy's in the spread and killed over 75 each day!!! Calling the shot was a little hard as the "line" was 75 yards long but we did OK....?!

I guess my 2 cents is that no matter how many guys you have in the field there are two things that are most important to me. #1 is that everyone's blinds are hidden well and #2 is that everyone is on the same page as far as shot calling goes. There is nothing worse than one guy on the end that shoots at birds that could have used another circle. We always make sure that one guy calls the shot...always! I hope everyone has a fantastic fall!!!

We've had as many as 18 blinds in the field in the Dakota's,let me tell you when they get right with 18 guns its like a firing squad.Only 1 person calls the shot too, that way theres no mix ups......and that guy is always center......
Big Jason, I rembember those chickens........only another month to go.......

Yeah 40 dozen is pretty deadly, and can hide quite a few guys. Awsome PIC.
One note about that picture- I really like how well the blinds are grassed up, that alone makes the difference when it comes to hiding guys. I saw a PIC this year of a spread and the guy was wondering why they were flaring geese after the sun got up. They had very little grass on their blinds, and too boot it was the wrong color. Grassing up is the key to blind concealment, and it shown very well in that photo. The only two blinds I can see plainly are the ones closest to the camera man, and they have the least amount of grass on them. It really shows how well you can dissapear with a little extra effort.

we did 10 guys on the thursday before close of early season,, we shot 42 birds in the rain it was alot of fun,, but I bet it would have been more fun with 4 guys

That is a nice looking spread you have there Jeff, and the blinds ould also be nice lookking if you could see them! I wouldn't want to be a goose flying around that day as they would be convinced by the spread and once they came in there would more than likely be little chance of escape!!!

I prefer 4-5 guys, makes for less confusion when shooting.

If you want to kill birds i would not hunt more than three. But the birds were i hunt are extremly jumpy so it just depends on the birds.

I like no more than 4 guys in the spread. You can hunt more if you are in pit blinds of course, or if you are setup next to some standing corn where the other guys can hide until the ones in the blinds are done shooting and then switch, but to me there is already alot of stuff going on and to watch for with 4 guys, but whatever works for ya.
