Finally got around to posting up 'bout our opener. Had to walk in a ways, but it was worht it, as it always is. Expected to hunt in 3 feet of water. Ended up being on a mudflat. Had to improvise with the extended stakes for the full bodies. It was an auesome day, dispite alot of birds. The times spend afield with friends and family are far more important to me. Did manage 6 teal though. Beautiful weather made it a great day.
The spread of new fullbodies (I love these decoys).

Eric,
We were hunting our honey hole, down around Gaylord. I could tell you more, but I'd have to kill you ;). Just kidding. It's a public DU project. It usually produces better results, but we were competeing with 3 other groups, on a small slough, that were takeing so long shots, to put it nicley. If you want the exact spot, I'd be glad to tell you. Always love to help out a fellow Minnesotan.

Nice post. The full bodies are the ticket. They take your spread into the next level. I use them every chance I get. Hope the rest of your season is safe and rewarding.

Congrats on the teal boss! Wish the hundreds of ducks we saw for MN opener would have been more keen to decoying. I have been tipped off about 20 wood ducks sitting on a tiny pond in my friend's grandpa's yard, so I am going to jump them in the morning tomorrow. That's the only secret place in MN I would not share! Good luck for the rest of the season, and let me know how you are doing down there as it progresses.

Hunted around Mankato. Opener we shot three limits of redheads,1 teal, and 1 hollywood. Sun. was not as productive, 2 malls, thats it. Hope to get out this weekend. Younggun1 have you been out on titloe in Gaylord this year yet? How is the goose population look like there? Grandparents live there and I am thinking of going there soon. Let me know. I would appriceate it.

Nice job on the hunt. I too agree that the FB mallards are great. I wish I could shoot Greenwing teal like that!

Goetler,
Didn't drive around scouting much, but we did see some geese flying around. I think it would be worth while. We were pretty much straight north of gaylord. Give it a try!

Thanks Ellis. I'll have to give it a try in a couple of weeks. I work every other weekend and went back to school so I don;t get out as much as I would like. If you are out and about let me know what it looks like. Hunted middle lake sat. got three 1 mall, 1 b teal, and 1 gadwall. Didn't see very many malls but there were a lot of gadys though.
