I am going to turn 6 out of my 12 full body geese into motion decoys using the real motion kit. My question is I have 6 full body feeders and 6 full body lookers, which 6 would you put the motion cones in? I was thinking the feeders as we hunt mainly corn and bean fields.
Any suggestions?

I'd leave the Lookers as they are and put the RealMotion cones on all your Feeders.

I agree with Rob. Add motion to your feeders. Leave the RealFeet Foot Bases in place on the lookers.

You will have nothing but problems if you put them on your Lookers. The high heads of these decoys make it very difficult for successful motion installation.

Feeders for sure.

Lookers,Sleepers and Resters are meant to be Stationary birds, enjoy the dekes, they truly are the best.
Me - I am putting my RealMotion kits in feeders only.
I spend a lot more time than I should watching geese - for "calling lessons" and "decoy placement lessons". The feeding geese move all the time in varying range of motion. The geese with their heads up move a little, as in walking, otherwise they are still and "looking around". The geese with their "heads up high" seem focused (other geese, critters, the guy in the truck with binoculars, whatever) and do not move...
Just my observations - so I would put them in the feeders.

You really should apply these Motion Kits to your Feeder decoys. From above, geese are always walking around with their heads to the ground looking for that next bite. I don't know if you meant your other option were Lookers or Actives but either way, I would also go with putting the Motion Kits on the Feeder decoys.

I would also put the Avery motion cones on my feeders . But if you have Actives I would hold one back for him . Reason for this is I like to have Actives walking from the landing areas to the feeding areas with some motion.
Thats just me .

It has been very windy here the last few days, and the geese have had the feedbags on. I have watched 2 very large flocks feeding and couldn't help but notice that almost 95% of the feeding birds are turned into the wind and working their way upwind with their heads down. I would definetly put as much motion as possible on your feeder dekes.
The other "active" birds just seem to do what they want. Even seen a few leap frogging yesterday, they must be hungry!!!!
I still can't get over some of the sounds these birds make when they are feeding:eek:
The landing geese are not "squared up" BTW.....
Can you tell which way the wind is blowing?

I've put the motion cones on all of my 04/05 feeders and actives. Be sure the cones have the "new" motion lock structure. This way you can control the motion as preferred to meet your hunting situation... i.e. if the wind is to strong lock-em, (especially the actives). Light to moderate wind, let-em rock & roll naturally. “It’s Only Rock & Roll But I Like It”…;)
