My buddy and I both purchased a winter wheat kit and an all terrain kit for our layouts. Stuff looks great. We did find a color in the all terrain kit that looks very good and we are wondering if just that color is avalible in a 2 lbs package. I am not sure what color it is, we are calling it a dirty brown. In the kit there are 5 colors, winter wheat, tan, chocolate Brown, light faded green, and the color we want dirty brown, old straw color.

Thanks for the help.

Muddydogs, we don't offer it like this, because it would be a packaging nightmare to try and custom make these kits for every different situation. On the other hand, we will look into which is the most popular at the end of this year, and see which one color might make a good kit by itself. Thanks for the suggestion.

Since Avery doesn't sell that color you are looking for in its own package you have two options I believe. One, purchase a couple of those all terrain packages and just use that dirty brown color and try and use or sell the other colors. Or get yourself some raifia (spelling) and die it yourself to that color you want.

Ya I now all about dyeing raffia, and I now were I can get raffia cheaper then the avery kits. The problem is getting the color right. I have had grass that I was dyeing to use eary season for my boat blind come out like easter basket green or it looks like something you would put on the X-mas tree. Avery has some great colors in there all terrain kit and I don't want to mess around with dyeing grass hoping that I can get a color that is usable with out going through the dyeing process a couple times to get it right. Plus I am doing this last minute to boot. Thats not to say I have been slacking as I built a boat blind, decoy bags, fixed up enough raffia to cover a 18 foot boat plus many other projects (basically I have been working on getting ready for the season since July). I just happened to come into a sweet Goose hunting deal about two days before the season and have been gearing up for field hunting hard and fast. Some of the areas I hunt only one or two colors from the kit will work so that is quite a few kits to get enough of a couple colors to cover one blind let alone two. Anyway I was hopeing that Avery had each color in a 2 lbs pack, but since they don't I might have to dye some up or at least get another all terrain kit.

So Avery, how about each color in its own pack for us guys that don't want to mess around with the dye or just don't have the time?

Thanks for the help guys.

Like Travis said, we will look into the more popular colors and maybe do some changes later. Thanks for the support and good luck this season.

We are looking at doing up to 8-10 solid color kits. Hopefully we will have this completed for the 07 season.

Don't mess around trying to dye it. Hit it with spray paint! Krylon camoflauge spraint paint is cheap, readily available, flat in color, dries quickly. Give that a shot.
As far as selling it individually, I too would like to see that.

I will be looking for the solid color kits next year, great plan. To solve my grass issue I found a all terrain boat kit and bundled that up for the two blinds we use. I realize that a boat kit is about the same as 2 layout kits. Anyway I think the color combos are great for were I hunt and I was happy to find some grass that I didn't have to dye. I will post a pic or two as soon as my buddy gets them sent to me.
