Have you guys thought about making a killer corn that you can remove and add to your blinds like the killer weed. Here in Kansas most of the corn fields we hunt have very very little grass in them. I know the killer weed is used to break-up the edges of the blinds and can work in corn fields but i think you guys could make an awesome killer corn!!! The more time we can save grassing the blinds in the morning the better! What do you guys think????

If you zip tie Avery's grass mats to the blinds you will blend in awesome. This is what we do. Just measure strips and cut into strips. then zip tie the strips to the doors, feet and sides.

I like how you think. It is a very good possibility that we need to look into this.

I really like the idea as well, fake corn stalks would really be nice for the cut corn fields.

Honestly its a great idea. But lets stop and think. I understand buying some stuff. I have bought some grass mats and i have bought the green grass for wheat fields and sadly one golf course. Long story. Corn stalks really dont fit that bill. I have had a layout blind for six years. The first hunt i used it on i filled it with corn stalks, im pretty sure alot of those originals are still there. Corn stalks dont really go away. They arent like grass. They dont really fade that much and they dont rot. If you leave them out in a field sure they rot and change but i like to bring my blind home. It goes in the trailer or garage, or if my girl isnt home yet........ the living room occasionally. I like to watch football out of it. The point is i dont see how it would justify buying fake corn stalks when there isnt a shortage of long lasting ones available. The ones i use are free. I have yet to meet a farmer that has objected to me taking a rubbermade trash can out in his field and filling it with corn stalks. Its a great idea and i see the need, but there are really good looking ones for free. You cant buy everything......well you can......but why. I do commend the innovative thinking though.

Instead of corn stalks, what about wider leaf Killerweed?

Just a thought.

I know what you mean and yes they are free...but I think that if Avery came out with a really good fake corn...not the stocks but the husks and the leaves from the corn this would save a huge amount of time brushing the blinds. It seems when hunting season is here it seems we hunt different place everyday. Corn fields, wheat fields, Milo, Grass pastures/ponds, etc...but it always takes so much time hiding the blinds in the mornings when we hunt so many different places. It would be nice to have some removeable stuff that was actually durable enough to keep and reuse throughout the season.

I thought FlockedUp would be all about the "husk". :D I read your post and thought stalk as well. My initial reaction was the same.

This idea is better. There is a company that makes the husk leaves available. I just don't remember the name. A wider killer grass would have the same effect as the husk leaves.

The only down side to this. When I hear "removable" used to describe anything to do with waterfowling, it translates to "losable" in my mind.

oh i'm sorry guys i guess i forgot that corn stalks dont have husks attached.......i guess they all majically leave the field. What isnt removable on a layout blind.
