I was just in the Medina area over the weekend and we broke ice every morning. not really thick, but enough to work up a sweat in 25 degree temps. Ryan Vande Griend is in the medina area for a week so he will tell us how it is now, i think it was supposed to warm up a little.

That kind of weather can work in 2 ways. I hope it made the birds easy to decoy instead of running the birds off. I know that kind of weather this early can only help some of the southern states this season. Good luck this season.

Up here in Storm Lake we busted Ice on the 14th for the opener. There was ice on about 90% of the ponds, only the deep ones escaped and even then there was ice on all the edges.

man I'd love to see some of that around us this year. I know we won't get that much but it would be nice to hunt in the snow for a change. Hope that gets them moving around some.

Ice big time here in N.D. this morning. Supposed to be cold at night, but warm up into the mid 40's to mid 50's.
