I have ran a search for the new ground force blind and I know this has been beat to death but when people talk about the blind on here. All I hear are the negative comments on the doors and on the bar sticking into your back.
I just want an honest opinion on the blind. I am very interested in getting one and I don't have anywhere to go try it out. I love my power hunter(which I really like a lot) but I really want a blind that has a full frame yet has the mobility like the power hunter(backpack). I have been looking at the ground force and the X-Lander. I know the X-Lander doesn't have the full frame but I have laid in one and I like it. I was wanting to stick with avery blinds though. It just makes me nervous getting the ground force blind the first year it is out.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. And how many people really have trouble with the doors and the bar going in there back?

I have used one several time this year. I do not have any problems with the bar or the doors. You want to have the tension on the back rest firm. If you like the back rest fairly loose, you may feel it. I would try one out in a store before you buy it.

As far as the bar sticking in your back, my honest opinion is the guys feeling this bar are not using the blind correctly. In a real get down and working birds situiation a person should have their head on the headrest which in turn puts your face up under the flaps. If this technique is followed correctly the persons lower back and rear is past where the bar is. The time guys are feeling this bar is when the doors are open and they are sitting up waiting for birds. IMHO.

This will basically be my second year hunting out of the Ground Force and I love it. Sure, there is a bar there but as already stated, when you are in the "hunting position" you are below the bar. If you are in the "open door" position, you just sit on the backside of the bar...no problem. I haven't experienced the problem with the doors and I think most of these issues come with the tension on the doors not being right.

No problems here. There is a bar, but frankly I only feel it when I slide into the blind, once I am in it no problem at all.

Take it from someone who has owned most of them. I currently have the Xlandr, the Cabelas Inecepter and the Ground Force, and my son has a Youth Finisher. The GF takes all of the qualities that I like best in all of the others and wrapped them into one blind.
The GF is 18" high when set up. The only other one that comes close is the Xlandr at 17". The GF packs up smaller and easier than anything else out there by far. It is roomy, comfortable and the new way the mesh face area is designed it allows you to move your head around with total concealment.
My favorite part of the blind is the ease of set up and tear down, it literally takes me about 25 seconds on either end, and there are now pins or anything else to try to line up in the dark.
So.......You might say I would reccomend the Ground Force.

Everyone has done a great job of describing the GF blind and my comment on this is that Jeremy hit the nail on the head with "feeling the bar" scenario. If you are down in the blind like you should be when the birds are working you should not feel the bar at all. If I were you I would not hesitate in buying one because that blind is awesome.
If there is anything else that we can help you do please let us know.

I bought a GF this year and I have no complaints about it. The bar was an issue I heard some things about before I bought one but it seemed like it didn't bother some guys and others it did. As mentioned, I think it depends on how you lay in the blind. I don't even notice it. As far as the doors go, I really like how they are set up. The face flaps can velcro to be out of your face and the doors open very easily and do not get in the way of my shooting. I did not lay in one before I bought mine. I read more good things about them than bad so I took a chance and ordered off the internet. Buy one and hunt it a lot. You'll really like it in my opinion.

I have hunted out of the Ground Force, Power Hunter and Finisher. The Power Hunter was my favorite, but the Ground Force is probably going to take over that slot. The bar is there, but it does not bother me at all. I agree with everyone else, the bar is below your back when your are calling and it doesn't bother me when I raise up to shoot.
i find the bar actualy helps from sliding down into the blind all the time when you are waiting for birds, i tend to sit on the upside of it when waiting, it would be hard to beat the quickset up of the ground force, the door frame is very fixable, i had that prob, but have it is all straightened out now.

If you like the power hunter then you'll love the Ground Force. I've had no problems with mine and wish I had bought another one. Very comfortable and roomy while still being low profile, easy to set up, by far the best Laydown blind ever made.
Short Answer : YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

What would you guys think of trading a powerhunter for a Ground Force good move or bad?

Hunter,
This past weekend was the State of Ohio waterfowling season opener, and I can tell you that I finally got to use my new GF all weekend.
I can also tell you if you love your Pwer Hunter, (which I have 4 of and love them too) you will absolutly fall in love with the GF, it truly is the best of both worlds when guys say it's a PH and Finisher combined.
I know its the only blind I will use the rest if the year.

I have actually used both of these blinds in Canada this past sept. I can honestly say I think the ground force blind was junk. It fell apart, the doors were junk and yes there was a pain in the a** bar in my back. But there was a full frame. What the advantage to this frame was I have no idea. My biggest requirements to a layout blind is comfort and concelment. You could hide in this blind but the comfort was aweful. As far as being lower profile, the x lander was lower by 2-3 inches.
Now my 2 cents worth. You need to ask this question on another site to really get a unbiased answer. Cause all the Avery prostaffers are going to blow sunshine up your you know what. And to them it could be the best blind they hunted out of. But ask this question on another forum to get a accurate answer.

I figure I post this enough places, maybe it will make it market...How about a Migrator blind that folds up like a GF. I'll test it as soon as you make the prototype!! :D

You might try Mack's, or http://www.rogerssportinggoods.com/ Don't waste time as this close to the season and many seasons under way I would think they are very close to selling out of this stuff. I know Rogers is out of Neotubs as a buddy of mine tried to order one this last week. Good luck.
