not to beat a dead horse but,,, if you fill all the straps from the top down with 5-7 strands by the time you do the doors your about out of grass?? and how do you cover the the last 3 inches of the doors? i see the post of a comb over ya how is this done while you are in it and doors closed? maybe i got a bad kit but some of it is wide and some is real thin..A STICkY WITH STEP BY STEP PICS WOULD BE NICE hint hint

We just did 4 blinds with Killerweed. 2 Golden Harvest and 2 AT.
We had plenty of Killerweed for these blinds. We will try nd see if we can get step by step pics with instructions.

We have been discussing moving the CamoStraps to the edge of the doors. Nothing finalized yet.
What I do now is to use existing ground cover in the field to help the blind match the field.
Thanks,

Here is my take on the Killer Weed. If you just want to put the stuff on your blind for a back ground then one bundle of the all terrain will do it. You will still be able to see a lot of the blind behind the grass. If you are hunting in places like I hunt, Winter Wheat and Alfalfa where the land owner really dosn't want us tearing his crop out of the field then you will need 2 or more all terrain kits and depending on the color at least 1 winter wheat pack. I have found that the Tan and dark Brown are little or no use in the fields I hunt. The last hunt out the Tan was left in the bag and only a few hanks of Brown where used to give the camo job some depth. My buddy and myself both run 1 winter wheat pack and 2 all terrain packs, one of our buddys hunted with us yesterday and only had an all terrain kit ready to go. He ended up using some of our grass to hide his Wildfowler blind which has less surface area then a finisher.
Don't get me wrong, I think the Killer Weed is great stuff and I hope that they come out with some individual color packs for next season. I don't need to much for the layouts anymore but would like to put a couple of the colors on my boat blind and with 30' of boat blind I can not afford to purchase enough boat blind kits to get enough of the couple colors I need.

Dirt_Bag,
I have four Power Hunters and did all four of them with two packages of AT Killerweed. I didn't use the winter wheat color or the dark brown on none of the blinds. Instead I reserved these for making bundles to use in winter wheat and some of the fields around here that have very rich dark brown soil.
What I do is seperate each color on a table. I take the dark brown and the winter wheat and put them back in the packages. I now take a strand or two from each color and then place them on another table behind me. I do this several times until I fill up the table with the blended bunches but I keep each bundle seperate. On another table I have a blind. I take a small bundle of the blended stuff and cut it in half since the stuff I have is fairly long. This will now give me two shorter blended bundles. I then half hitch the bundles into one of the straps. I do three bundles per strap. I also rotate the bundles so two bundles face one way and one faces the other way.... basically right, left, right. My blinds are covered very sparsely but still have enough coverage that I don't have to use any natural cover if I don't want to.
Your not trying to cover the whole blind like a wooly worm. All you are looking to do is break it up from looking like a blind. Most folks put on way too much and it uses the package up quickly.
On my lids I put in on their as I have stated and haven't had any problems with the lid. I figure if it was going to be a problem I could either move the KW to where it wasn't a problem.... which is what I would do. Or cut it off around the edge of the lid.
Later when I find the clips I want to use I will be attaching the two left over colors to them and then I will be able to blend in wheat fields or dirt fields.
The way I put KW on my blind takes a while at first but once you get the system down it actually goes pretty fast. Especially when you have a couple of friends at each station.

I think that it is imperative to add a SMALL amount of natural cover (cover type in the field that you are hunting), to add to the KillerWeed that you have on the blind. The KillerWeed is an awesome base that in certain circumstances, can be the only camo that you use in some situations. However, in a lot of situations you should add natural vegetation to more accurately imitate the natural surroundings.

Dirt Bag, you don't have to tie the grass but on the upper stubble straps and let the stuff hang down. You gotta do a stagger deal on the ends though and I even went through the net mesh on top so the knots don't show. I first spray painted the Finisher with the Krylon brown that comes in their camo pack to dull the sheen. I have the khaki. I then lay 5-8 strands of each color over my truck mirror and then looped (larks head) over the straps on the top row and also through the net mesh on top. I did not use either of the 2 green colored strands and had some brown leftover. Here's some pics that might help. The neo tub is still on back order so ain't in place...Sigh...

I think that the handiest addition as far as grassing blinds is concerned would be ELASTIC stubble straps. If these were on the blind it would be much easier to grass up a blind with natural vegetation and not have to worry about it all falling out...
Just a thought,

I just finished doing my boat blind with the killer weed kit, 18' roughneck and it really does the ticket for hiding the blind. What I did was zip it to the blind about 1/4 to 1/2 the way down on the bunch. I mixed the colors up in each group. they can be spread out if needed. Another good product
I really like the dead grass look it gives.
colors are correct

Dirt Bag,
To my knowledge, you have to use a photo hosting site. A lot of people use ImageShack and Photobucket.
