But they work... Nuff Said...

The good: Lots of Ducks
The Bad: No Weather at all!!!

The good: Lots of ducks:
The bad: Everything that decoyed well were 1-a-days...

The good: Lots of ducks
The Bad: Lake went down about 6 inces since the opener... NEED RAIN!!!

The WORST:
HUNTER'S CHOICE SUCKS!!!

My son and I hit the lease on Sat... first duck that comes in right at LST, I am thinking Drake Gadwall... Dog brings it back... You guessed it HEN MALLARD... Time to be careful... Next duck works in back peddling at 15 yards Juvi Drake Pintail... We let him pass... then we have a number of flights work but not finish a few Mallards but Mostly Pintail... I was cautious about wanting to shoot into a mixed flock as we already had the Hen Mallard in the Bag... So we watched a lot of flights we could have gotten birds out of (40 yard shots). Then I knock down a Drake Gaddie out of a flock of 3 only to have him sail on me... them as I am coming back to the spread my boy makes a sweet shot on a Hooded Merganser only to have it hit the water and never resurface... So with one duck in the bag and it getting warmer by the minute a pair of mature Sprig start circling... took about 5 passes before they decided to come on in... And boom I shoot the prettiest Bull Sprig I have ever shot... and thats the hunt... Ohh we kicked back in the blinds for a while but nothing else decided to stop by... So I went out and took some pics of what a duck might see on approach... I noticed 1 thing right off... Big Black Lab stands out bad against the lighter Dirt... I think its time for a Dog blind... What do y'all think???
Here's the pics...

He does stand out, if you choose to get a dog blind, I'd recommend the GHG Ground Force Dog Blind, you won't be disappointed. It's low profile, easy to set up and solidly built. AND...right now, Mack's is continuing the Killerweed offer.
