Rice field ideas

Guys i am headed out to our lease in arkansas this week-end. The report is that we have got birds in the field,just not near the blind and very few are wanting to work near the blind. They are out in more of the open areas and the water is around a foot out their. Currently i do not have a layout blind and neo-tub. Is their any other good ideas that you guys have used in the past that worked and didn't flare the birds to bad. Ideas on make-shift blinds etc.

Got any Fastgrass mats laying around? Tie-wrap one of them to three wooden or metal poles (one on each end and one in the middle). Metal conduit probably works the best. Push the poles into the mud and wrap this makeshift blind around you. Yes you will be sticking up way higher than the surrounding vegetation, but ducks don't seem to mind.
