still gunning over this flag...
its modeled off of my homemade jobs i've been using over the years for seaducks, divers and brant.
a much cleaner version- flag material, shaft and handle.
thoughts?
comments?
questions?

I have not hunted sea ducks so I have no comments but I know there is a market for many products.
Hows the hunting been Jeff?

The only comment is I need one a little smaller for the layout boat.... Definately a great idea and not something many guys do up this way when it comes to hunting from the box for divers.

Jeff,
Great flag. That shaft looks like it gives the flag extra movement.
I have been working on a few of my own and I think I like that better.

Looks good Jeff, what about a white patch or stripe to add a little more flash at a distance?

Looks good. Perfect for the larger boats, as David said a small version would be cool also for layouts.
I have been using one like Adam mentioned. It is not a full white, but a gray on one side. Have you tried something like that on the east coast? They seem to like it up here.
The rod looks great. How is it holding up in the higher winds?
I would love to see one that is black on one side and white on the other, or some combo of black/white.

I also say a touch of white would be perfect. Something like a white v notch on both sidees at the rear of the flag is all we would need, just enough to create a flash.

Nice. I can remember using the square flags like that years ago in Tennessee. They work great on geese and I am sure that they work great in that type of situation as well.

As said previously by Tim, Reed and David: a smaller version for layouts and one with some fair amount of white. For the last 2 years we've been using a snow goose flag for eiders ... and it's been working pretty good ...

Looks like another great product is coming into the line-up.
Tim, how has it been out in the salt? Man, it has been a cold one so far!

I like it!!! My buddy and I just went on a layout hunt on Thanksgiving. We used a dark hat for a similar effect and we limited in under an hour!! Funny, we had just talked about making a flag for this exact reason!!

I think this will be a great product. I cannot wait to have it aboard.
Adam, All I can say is cold and windy. We have had to work, but we are still getting the birds. This weather just has them confused. More blue bills around then I have ever seen.
You getting out over your way?

My friend that I usually go with just got back from 32 days in Canada, ND and SD, so he is getting caught up with his work (taxidermist) then hopefully we will get a few more times on this side of PWS. I hope to see a few bluebills, we usually see a lot of Barrow's, Harlequins, buffies and a few oldsquaw and scoters.

We just got some good groups of scoter in. White-wing and surfs. It is nice to see the bills hanging around. Even seen a few pintails. The harlis, barrows and commons are in good numbers as usual. The old squaw are just starting to show up. Maybe with this cold it will push a few more odd balls our way.
Do you hunt Homer area at all? Keep thinking of a trip that way if I have time off.

It needs a stiffer shaft. Other than that, it's killer!
