Bayman,
Do you think they will actually decoy to those deke's?????
Down here in Texas the buffleheads usually just swing over the decoys and if you want to shoot them (I don't) then you pass shot them...they seem fairly stupid, and easy to shoot...
So my question is...
Do you think they will actually decoy?

I bought 6 buffs in Oct & have shot dozens of divers over them. Many have landed 2ft. from the dekes. Put them in your kill hole & hang on!!!

When you have bufflehead decoys out, they cant resist. They land right on them in flocks even, giving you great shots a lot of time. I just love the new GHG buffies! Plus they are great visability and variety in a diver spread is good!

I think decoys are about the only way to consistently shoot divers, I havent found they respond to calling very much at all. We have also found here in Arkansas when hunting the river if you have different species of decoys you can even work the "real" ducks better and they seem to decoy alot easier.
Great job on creating another good looking decoy to help trick more birds.

You have never seen buffleheads decoy until you have hunted with the GHG's. I have tried some of my own cork floaters before with little change. I out out a dozen of these bad boys and had multiple flocks of up to 80 birds set in the dekes feet down. They work great for picking out the drakes! I will try and do it tomorrow, and use the camera instead of the gun!

They worked for us. The bright white also gives a lot of long range visibility if you are hunting smaller lakes with birds passing over, or big water with birds moving off shore. I combine bright white with old dekes painted flat black for added contrast in my spread.
