The ice finally thawed out Saturday afternoon in time for us to have a wonderful hunt. The Mallards worked in very well to the Full bodies.

Is that a great looking little black lab or what?! Must of had the shutter speed set extremely fast else she'd of been nothing but a blur! Glad y'all killed some green.

The full body Mallards looked incredible in the rice fields and the ducks liked them even better as you can see.

Hank you need to hurry up and get down here and help us kill some of these ducks.

That must have been a ball to shoot that many birds. How many guys hunted with you? Probably doesn't matter cause ya'll had a blast huh? Congrats!

We had a great time. There was 6 of us in the pit. The only ducks that really wanted to work was the mallards, and I hate when that happens. The afternoon hunts after a hard freeze with clear skies and a South wind always seem to produce great hunts.

Sweet stuff, love the reflection on the water in the one shot. I think you need to clean your image sensor on you camera. (big smudge marks upper left on most pics) (Or just photo shop them out!!.):)

We hunt out pits that are dug down into the rice levee. You are about eye level with the water, the way we have got ours set up.
