I have an Alumacraft 1546 with a Quickset on it and I get into a lot of places with mine. There has been lots of memories out of this boats as well as many birds shot. As much as I need a bigger boat, this little boat fits in well with the areas I hunt and is much easier to move around by myself than a bigger boat. I hunt by myself a lot so it is a great fit.

We hunt the Ar river quite a bit and I have a Seaark 1548 DK model. With a 25 h.p. Mecury outboard on it and it does great. Usually can haul up to 3 guys, my dog, and 4 doz GHG dekes and be good to go.

I run a 12' V hull with a 5hp outboard! I don't recomend it at all! We hunt big water with it, but you can only safely hunt 2 guys. Get up around 16' or bigger, and you'll be a lot more versatile.

Alumacraft 1436 light (55" at the gunwale) with a 9.9 hp on it. I've been in the upper parts of the bay with it and alot of the delta area, it'll scoot when I need it to and it will go into the tight places. 2 people and a dog are plenty for this boat, or me and my 2 boys fishing. I just got some Avery Diecut Blind material and will be building some sort of blind soon.

I have a 17 foot Express with a 40 horse and pods that I had installed after I bought the rig with a Beavertail blind. Can take 3 to 4 guys a ton of dekes and food and still run close to 30 mph. The pods are a nice add on. The other plus to the Express is the whole inside of the boat is camo rhino liner from the factory. Nice and durable.

Thanks guys those are nice looking boats.. I am getting more excited now about my boat.. What kind of horse power do you think you would need to push a 500lb dry hull w/ usually 2 people dog and 4doz deeks?

I always say use three factors when buying a motor. 1) How much you can afford, 2) how much will the boat handle, and 3) how much are you allowed to run on state lakes?
For one if it gets bad, the bigger the better. You can always use a motor at half throttle, but can never increase the horsepower past what you need in a pinch. Better safe than sorry in my book.

I have a 16ft Tracker Grizzley with a 35hp tiller on it. It gets the job done well, but around here its hard to find a tiller with more hp than that.

I have a 2072 Beavertail with 27" sides. I run a 60hp E-Tec tiller on it. Boat is pretty much one of a kind, as they built it to my specs. So far I really like it, will get up on plane even with 5 guys and a heavy load of decoys.

Here alot of guys have a carolina skiff. Virtually unsinkable. My dad has a 21ft. 80inch wide one(2180 DLX model) and it will float in 5 inches of water. With the boat being that wide it makes for a very stable platform to shoot off of. They are great boats and very versitile. I plan to purchase a 1780 DLX. A 25 hp motor will easily do the trick on that particular boat. Being so wide they get on top pretty easily. I hope this helps you in your descision, Shayne.

I dont have a boat, but would not mind having a pro drive. I have to go to college first because right now I can kill ducks without a boat. Just use your legs and you wil find birds. :D

We have an old Alumacraft 14 ft. It works well though. It is not a flat bottom, so it can take up to 4 ft waves. It gets a little cramped with 3 or more guys, and two bags full of dekes. It has an 8 horse evenrude. We don't have a mud motor, because we hunt lakes that are at least 3 to 4 ft deep.

I have a 2000 16 foot welded Xpress boat and trailer for sale. The boat has a 2 year old blind on it, wind breaker under the blind, gun box, front seat that folds up and down, and thick canvas boat cover, It is run by a 25 hp Kohler Long tail from Mudbuddy. Just this year I have put on a mini tachometer, and had a tune up done. It runs great. The trailer is sized for to the boat and comes with a spare tire and tongue jack with full plastic tire. If you are interested please don't hesitate to email me your questions at DkHntrDstn@Yahoo.com. I will answer them as quickly as possible.
