Lots of Snow Geese

As I sat on my couch thinking about yesterdays hunt, I looked out the window to see thousands and thousands of Snow Geese going ovedr my house.

Wanting to get a good picture of them on the grounds, I thought they might have all headed to the roost, only about 4 mins from my house. I pulled up to it only to find Canadas.

They flew of and I followed them to see if they would lead me to the Snow Geese

I followed them and sure enough they lead me to the Snows... and lots of other things. I pulled up to the field and watched as litteraly about 100 000 Snows about 100 000 Canadas and about 10 000 ducks were in the field. I binoed the Snows and saw 2 neckies, 1 Blue one and 1 Yellow one. Go figure they are all in one field the season ends.

There aren't words to describe that which you have shown us... and only one posible explanation... the season is over!

It just started to get cold, and its suppsosed to warm up, so I cant see them leavng for at least another 2 weeks.

This winter is unreal so far. 56 degrees in Iowa yesterday, and it's almost January.

Travis, you're definitely right. We still have thousands and thousands of Canadas up here and about a thousand greenheads, and the season for geese is closed and the duck season closes sunday evening. That will make North Dakota one big refuge.

Holy Mackrel. Snows still in Canada? I am throwing up my hands on this years migration as one of the most goofy of them all. I hope the boys to the south of us are ready. We are supposed to get another blizzard in the western part of the state. I have afeeling if we get that much again it will send the geese packing. Have a good one all. Dan

lol come to skagit county in wa. they are eating them selfs out of house and home. and wa. state is just figuring out there is a problem with them, about 3 yrs to late!! the state makes you get a special permit to hunt them (its free) but closing date to get permit is before the hunting regulations for the yr come out. just another wa state eff up lol. they said no battery operated devises of any kind without doing a study. so we all bought robo ducks and boom they are illegal hahaha
