Well, today we put together a hunt with a large group of guys. We would take turns with the guns and shooting.
In Rhode Island, by law, you can't have more than 5 guys hunting together. We wanted to kill many geese because the landowner asked us to 'clean' them out. So we had 9 guys in all.
We got around the '5 man' rule by switching shooters and people in the blind. I did the picture taking, and never uncased the gun, as well as some others.
Anyways, we had about 100 birds roosted on the small pond, and a flush just after shooting time sent three to the ground with the rest leaving. We hunting until noon time and ended up with 14 geese. In the pictures, 13 are pictured, but one hunter left at 10 and took one bird with him.
We had a spread consisting of 3 dozen GHG oversized shells, 1/2 dozen GHG Pro Grade canadas, 3 dozen GHG Hunter series canadas and about 2-3 dozen 'mixed' decoys.
The birds cooperated for the most part, but shots were tough. We had to face one direction to avoid peppering houses (we have a 500' rule, and were over the 500' but the pellets would still travel that distance). This resulted in birds commiting from out backs, and us taking side and going away shots.
The following are some pics.
