Up here the fields we hunt are either pea, barley or wheat. Anyways, for an all duck spread have the wind at the back of your blind. From there mix a few dekes around your blind and the odd one behind it. Then we throw the remaining decoys out in an oval in front of us. We leave an opening about 5 yards in front of us out to about 20 yards and about 15 across. In the opening scatter the odd decoy around to make it look like they just landed. At the downwind end of your spread put a few decoys there so your spread does not look like a U and this also prevents the ducks from landing out of range. Hope this helps and heres some proof of its efectiveness.
The ducks in the pic are about 10 yards away.

This is after the hunt, in 2 days we harvested six 8bird limits out of the same field.

we hunt some ponds out of are boats. we put differnt groups of decoys out one on each side of the boat with the wind coming from are back. If we get a wind coming from the north or south we put a j spread out the goes right in fron pf the boat and that worked great this year. we killed every thing tenb yards in front of the boat.also that helped us with the cans this year to. hope this help you out.

We used 30 FB mallards and 7 or 8 dozen floaters and 2 baby mojo's. We set out the perimeter of the spread with full bodies to make it more visible and then fill in spaces with the floaters. Its a great way to make a double use out of your floater rig.
