We used this camera for filming the Feet Down Guns Up DVD and I dont have any issues except that it does not come with wireless capabilities built in. Additonally, we had feedback issues with regard to use of the shotgun microphone.

Hey TJ,
The little hand held I use most of the time is a Panasonic PV gs-500. It is a great little cam for filming hunts. I know Sony makes some great little hand helds as well. I am not familiar with any of the Cannon models.
If anything I would suggest it is Mini-DV format and it has some type of Optical Stabilization mode.
Hope this helps.
