Here is a picture of our very late-season mallard spread. RealImage Mallards along the shore with 4 O/S Canadas out to the side.

And here is a Diver/Puddler spread we used on a lake with fellow AYFS Ryan Vande Griend.

My diver spred consists of 3 doz GHG lifesize bluebills, 1 doz GHG oversize buffies, 1/2 doz GHG oversize goldeneyes and 1/2 doz GHG lifesize ringnecks. As far as divers.....What I typically do is set them out in a giant U, C or J. I start with a line of buffies about 40 yards from the boat and bring them back to the boat. I then put the 3 doz bluebills in front of the boat about 15 yards out then I finish out the U, C or J with a line of the goldeneyes and ringnecks. I'll usually toss a pair of bluebills or buffies out in the middle of the pocket for a focal point for the ducks to land. Typically divers will follow the line of dekes you have out and land in your pocket closest to your boat but we have had probs this year with the ducks taking this approach so we tried our spred with the additional dekes in the center and this seemed to solve the problem. I don't do much mallard hunting but my spred consists of 1 doz GHG "hotbuys", 1 dozen GHG lifesize mallards, 1/2 dozen GHG lifesize pintails, 1/2 dozen GHG lifesize BW teal and 1/2 dozen GHG lifesize woodies. I generally put out to seperate groups of dekes (one to the left and one to the right and in front of the boat) with an open hole in the front. I'll also throw out my ringnecks as always have a bunch in the area and I also put out a couple of buffies for the visability. Hope this helps.
