OT, fishing in CanCun??

I'm heading down to CanCun next week with my girl.

I was wondering if anybody has been down there and if so did you fish? I would like to find a good half day charter to try and catch some 'mogins'!

Any help would be apprecitated!

Brian I have been there and my dad has fished,

Sorry I cant remember the charter name but I do remember is was south outside of the city, but not far, the city was in clear view.

I was down there a few weeks ago and managed to get out for a day of fishing. Well, actually I laid on the floor of the boat and yacked for 7 1/2 hours! I never even held a rod.:mad: My buddies on the boat had a blast and caught some really nice fish. They brought in 12 amberjacks, 2 huge barracudas, 5 red snapper, and about a 400 pound bull shark which, come to find out after I got back to the dock, grabbed one of the amberjacks. I never even saw a fish come in the boat, but I saw them all when we got back. It would have been a great day if I wouldn't have gotten so sick. That was the first time I had eve been motion sick. Anyway the day consisted of 1 hour out, 6 hours of fishing, and 1 hour back in. We stopped about half way out to catch the bait, and thats about the last thing I remember. I will ask one of my buddies who we went through and get back to you. It was around a 100 bucks a person which included all the beer, water, and orange juice you could drink. Have a great trip! If you've never been there, you're in for a treat!:)

Just go down to the docks. That is the cheapest way to do it. Don't go for the one's that the hotels tell you about they are always way more pricey. That is what my dad and I did and it cost us around $300. That was 5 years ago but some other guys went with the hotel and it cost $800. I don't remember the name of the captain though. Joesac did you get sick from all the beer or was it "motion sickness" lol Brian let me know what you go with because I am heading down there next Christmas or for Spring Break :D I might get sick like Joesac

i have been down there. we went out fishing one day and kept hooking up with fish and then baracudas would take one swipe and eat there bodys. so we only got the heads of fish. but then we caught a keeper and put him on a big ass rod and threw him back and the baracude took the bait. we finally caught him. he was a monster.

It was straight up motion sickness! I got sick before I could even enjoy a beer!
