Here's A Product Idea!!
CALL LOOPS INSIDE BLINDS.
How many of you have been lying in your blind, birds working and your calls are stuck around the back of your neck?? You reach and twist and struggle to get them unstuck from the hood of your parka, then can't find the right one, and the birds slide and slide. You swear to yourself you'll lay your calls on your chest next time. Everyone's sitting up talking, enjoying the hunt and someone yells "birds". Everyone scrambles to get covered back up, and low and belhold, there are you calls rigth behind your neck again. DAMMIT!!!!
Why not put call loops with a velrco closing tops INSIDE the flaps of the blinds. That way when lying on your back, you have 4-5 calls staring you in the face and we won't have to wrestle them from around our necks anymore?
I would use the heck out of this idea.

I really like the concept. It makes a lot of sense. I'll shoot the idea over to our head blind guy.
Thanks,

Two years ago I made a pouch that would be simaliar to the Avery shell holder only with four pouches for calls, instead.
It can be used a the end of the blind byu attaching 2 large metal snap rings and it hangs there.
I also put velcro on the back and attached it to the lid of my blind. the one I made worked all right but it did fly off from time to time!
I will post pics if I can find it.

The only down side I can see with this idea is that the "CALL LOCKER" would be totally useless on COLD COLD days when you have to have your calls inside your jacket to keep them from freeezing. Other than that, ie: every other day) it sure would add to usefullness (is that a word) of an already great product.

Not a bad idea but, I don't think my calls have ever ended up being stuck behind my neck. I guess I wouldn't mind if my blind had call loops in it either way because it wouldn't get in the way I don't think.

I think that is a good idea as well. Rick will get it to Fred and we'll see what happens. Thanks for the idea.

That's a greate idea.. I've had that happen, or struggle to grab a call and pull up the wrong one (duck for geese working) it would be a great concept.

Great idea!
I quite often have calls sitting beside me on top of guides bag or next to flask so I know exactly where they are when I need them in a hurry, as have had the problem you mention many times!
Would also avoid the other problem that sometimes happens....calls getting stuck between you and gun when taking a shot.....I hate that!!!

Very cool idea ya got there. I too have had the same problem with my calls being hung up in my hooded sweatshirt or other clothing.

I'd forget about them, and poof they'd be gone the next time I opened up my blind. I think I have lost at least three pairs of sunglasses by forgetting them inside the blinds.

I was invisioning a neoprene call locker with 4-6 loops (maybe 2-3 per side) AND a velcro closure over the top to keep them in the locker. Maybe even put snaps on the covers to guarantee that they won't fly open as the blind doors open. Also, I would put the lockers closer to the sides of the blind, NOT ON THE SIDES, but not right in your face either. They'll swing less distance, and be out of the way, and out of view.
I've spent many a hunt blowning dust, dirt, mud and snow out of my calls because I had them laid on my shooting bag, or on the blind floor next to me because I HATE them around my neck. Obviously I sound like quite a klutz here, but it just seems to make good sense to have them ready, right in front of you. More imortantly, how could it possibly hurt anything?

Interesting idea about having a "call holder" on the blind doors. I think it would be a workable product if designed correctly.
However, I dont think I would like it because then your calls wouldn't be around your neck on a lanyard and could be easier lost or when outside the blind you wouldn't have the calls. It would be nice not to have to search for your right call through. I dont think its possible to design something were you could have the calls on your lanyard around your neck and have the calls in the "call holder" without choking yourself when the blind doors open but who knows.

Personally, I would see no need for that. I guess I have never had my lanyard spin so that my calls are behind me or even off to the side.

Good idea, I like that idea and the thought of having a few shell loops (10 maybe) stitched into the blind because it is nice to have quick access!

Personally I think you have a good starting point for that idea...however I might take it one step further and actually have lanyard style drops attached to the door frame so there would be no way to lose the call. ...
Then take that idea one step further and make it retractable so that when it is time to shoot the call zips right back into place and out of the way.
If something like that could work I'd be all over it. I can't tell you how many times I find myself fumbling around for a call that slid around the backside of my neck or under my arms because of moving around inside the blind out of sight following birds.

Here is what I did to my old blind.
I went to Wal-Mart and purchsed some elastic and sowed it to my top. I left just enough room to slide the call in. I will see if the guy who has my old blind will send me a pic.

I really dont see the need for either shell loops or call holders. They would do nothing but get in the way. For shells you just put an open box on your shooting side. I have never needed shells so fast that you could not load quick enough using this. As for calls, just keep them to the side. Somtimes I end up taking off my lanyard and just pushing them off to the side before I shoot.

if yall are talking about putting these call holders on the doors, wont the calls go flying around on the straps when you throw the doors open to shoot? certainly not how i want to treat my calls i spend good money on.
