Turkey decoys as confidence builders

I have a question about using turkey decoys as confidence builders when goose hunting. When I was at the IWA in Moline, IL I watched a video where live turkeys were on the perimeter of feeding live geese and the two seemed to get along just fine. Has this technique been used before with any real degree of success to draw in new birds.

I have never seen that technique used and I guess there is one way to find out if it really works. It would be interesting to know if the geese arrived first or if the turkeys were there. A lot of times wild game will walk up to one another and can co-exist but seem to become nervous quicker. Interesting idea though.....
